2023 Corvette Z06 Sells at Mecum Kissimmee 2023 for $275,000

We just returned from spending Friday at Mecum Kissimmee 2023, and it was an amazing experience with the huge collector car auction offering over 4200 vehicles for sale including 430 Corvettes! The auction has so many Corvettes that we were told there was one Corvette from each of the 70 years they were produced.

Saturday is typically reserved for the star cars and other featured sellers. One of those cars making headlines the last couple of weeks was the addition of a Torch Red 2023 Corvette Z06 Coupe offered in the base aero package. The Corvette has just 15 miles on the odometer, and we have no idea if this was a flip or if the car was being offered with its MSO. Remember that flipping a new Corvette Z06 within 6 months of ownership negates the warranty for the buyer, and the auction catalog page has no disclaimer or other wording about the warranty status.

The auction description is also light on the equipment offered, so we have no idea what trim package was on the car either. The Z06 is VIN 316 and options included black aluminum wheels with red brake calipers and a black full-length racing stripe. The interior is also black with the base GT1 seats.

The fact is that buyers didn’t really care about anything but the 670-hp 5.5L flat-plane crank V8 engine. Once the Corvette Z06 hit the auction block and the sale started, we watched as the bidding price immediately climbed from the opening bid of $50,000 to surpass $200,000. From there a few more bids trickled in and the reserve price was met at $250,000, which just also happened to be the final bid for the car. With the 10% buyer’s commission, the final selling price was $275,000.

That’s a very strong price for what looks to be a base-optioned model, and we wonder if this sale will open up the floodgates for other Z06s to hit the secondary market.

  1. LoL!!! I heard the high bidder was out on a 8 hour release from the psyche ward. Makes sense…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😜

  2. I think that sometimes they “prime” the market to try and open the flood gates for other sales. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much for a base car. What a dumb-ass.

  3. Only an idiot with more money than they have sense would pay that much for a base Z06. Even if I had could afford it, I wouldn’t pay anywhere near that much for a fully loaded 3LZ with the Z07 package.

  4. I assume they have an excellent cocktail service to keep these buyers primed. You would think the consignor could have at least ordered a front splitter for that “performance” look.

  5. I love my C8 and that’s all I’ll ever need, but if I had that kind of money to toss around aimlessly on some wheels, I’d climb to the mountaintop and get me a Ferrari.

  6. Anytime you “win” something at an auction, you know you got hosed. It is the worst place to buy anything.

  7. The one thing about the car that is just plain ugly is how they handled the side intake area. Very ugly. Looks like someone tacked it on as an after thought. This is the main reason why I just can’t bring myself to spend the money on one. Ugly = No.

  8. Won’t this make things worse in the world of over pricing? I watched that sale, 10% buyer/seller fee is ridiculous, why do people pay that?? Yes they do have “Cocktail” waitresses cruising around getting people drinks. People do pay some outrageous prices for vehicles, look at that ugly POS new Ford Bronco. I think they did mention it was a1LZ.

  9. It’s all staged. It’s a fixed buyer to set a market value for dealers. Dealers will do the same thing they did with the stingray. Sell them as a used car with 50 miles on them.

  10. I am # 2732 on list at ciocca Chevrolet if enough people drop off the list I may see my car In 4 years. Otherwise I get my 5k back. Must be great to have more money than u know what to do with
