Corvettes for Sale: 1964 Corvette Convertible on eBay

Getting into a second-generation Corvette Sting Ray isn’t always affordable, with some going these days for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

But you don’t always have to break the bank to get a nice C2, as witnessed by this 1964 convertible currently being auctioned off on eBay out of Lynnwood, Washington.

The high bid has climbed to $41,514 with the sale coming to an end on Christmas Day, but an eager enthusiast can pull the trigger early by paying the “Buy It Now” price of $55,950.

The seller promotes his Sting Ray as an “excellent daily driver,” and based on the photos with the listing, we wouldn’t argue.

For those interested in originality, however, this might not be the car for them since the original Satin Silver paint has been changed at some time to Silver Blue. That new paint job still looks shiny, though the seller admits the hood could use some work now. The black convertible top, on the other hand, is described as “mint,” and we really dig the touch of elegance the matching Silver Blue hardtop adds when it’s being used. The bumpers are said to be “clean” and “straight,” while the correct hubcaps are resting inside the 215/75/15 Michelin whitewall radials. The headlights are described as “smooth working,” and the front end has been aligned recently.

Meanwhile, under the hood, we aren’t told if a numbers-matching engine is in place, but it is noted that the 327/300 horsepower V8 with a Weiand intake, Holley carburetor, and aluminum valve covers has a correct 870 block. Hooked to a four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, the engine is described as “excellent running,” and you can hear for yourself in a short video.

Inside, the interior looks very good to us for a daily driver, with the door panels even described as “mint” by the owner. The dash, gauges, and seat covers look more than acceptable, too. The car also includes upgrades like power windows, power steering, and AM/FM radio.

For someone whose pocketbook doesn’t afford the luxury of paying more than $100 grand for an immaculate C2 Corvette, this might be an option that wouldn’t send them to the poorhouse.
