[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Prices Falling? Here's the Latest Data Confirming the Drop!

As you might expect with a near-record number of more than 53,000 Corvettes produced for the 2023 model year, the C8 market is finally softening quite a bit as the old rule of supply and demand comes into play.

It’s never been a better time to buy a used C8 Corvette, and apparently the bottom still isn’t in sight if you’re worried about such things, at least according to the data analysis provided by the fellow at Fourwheel Trader on his YouTube channel.

He notes over the past year that C8 Stingray coupes depreciated 11.5 percent (or $10,500) and hardtop convertibles went down 12.9 percent (or $13,300), and they see no signs in the data that prices will flatten out anytime soon.

As for the Z06 market, since May of this year, prices for the coupe have plummeted 21.6 percent (or $47,500) and 19.3 percent (or $44,200) for the HTC, he says.

We won’t bore you with a lot more numbers, but suffice it to say, it looks like the boom times for the mid-engine Corvette are definitely over.

“Owners probably knew what they were getting themselves into and need to take a considerable loss when they sell,” the video host says. “Buyers, however, could benefit from the situation. Not only because prices are falling, but also because cars that are listed for sale for longer than 3 months receive massive discounts. On average this is 6%, and this already offsets half of the yearly depreciation rate.”

That means the folks who have waited patiently on the sidelines may be able to get the Corvette of their dreams without totally ravaging their budget and without having to wait, as they find prices for used Stingrays at or below MSRP. Since Chevy has continually jacked up the base price after starting below $60,000 for 2020, those people who were wise enough to get on a waiting list at one of the many dealers offering new cars at MSRP back in the early days of production still have come out smelling like a rose.

Where do you think the C8 market is headed?

  1. I didn’t give any thought to whether or not I would make or lose money when I bought my 70th. Anniversary Carbon Flash HTC Z51 I paid MSRP for, and for what the car is,it’s the best money I ever spent. I could care less what it’s worth years from now,my smiles from miles so far has been worth every penny. The car is way under priced for what it is and what it gives.

  2. Bill, you summed up my feelings as well. I bought my 70th C8 coupe with 3k miles from a guy I know who moved up to a Z06. I paid a bit under the sticker. I was happy when I bought it and I still am. It competes with or outperforms many cars that are much more expensive. Not a single regret!
