[ACCIDENT] C7 Corvette May Have Caused a Semi Truck to Overturn on a Los Angeles Highway

A C7 Corvette driver may have been responsible for a crash involving a tractor-trailer on a Pasadena, California freeway Sunday night.

California Highway Patrol says the Corvette convertible may have been weaving in and out of traffic prior to the wreck that left a big rig resting on its side, blocking all but the HOV lane of the westbound 134 Freeway just west of San Rafael Avenue overnight.

No word on the condition of the Corvette driver, but their black convertible definitely suffered extensive damage to the entire passenger side as well as the top in the video taken as it was being towed from the scene aboard a rollback.

Meanwhile, two occupants in the tractor-trailer had to be taken to a local hospital, where their conditions are unknown, after they had to be extricated from the cab by rescue personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday and forced the issuance of a SigAlert (a system that offers real-time traffic information about incidents that affect traffic). All lanes were finally open again by 6 a.m. Monday.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the CHP.

  1. Drove big rigs for 40 years with no accidents, but always kept in mind rule #1 “Never swerve to miss an idiot doing something stupid”, hit the brakes, but NEVER swerve, you WILL lose it.
