If you missed a chance to buy a brand-new Corvette back in 1981, here’s another opportunity some 42 years later!
An Atlanta area used Corvette dealer named Buyavette is currently offering a white ’81 coupe that’s been driven less than 2,000 miles!
This “super low mile, super original” car that was originally assembled on July 27, 1981 remains in “OUTSTANDING condition inside and out, showing just 1,599 title-documented actual miles,” according to the dealership listing.
This Corvette features a numbers-matching 190 horsepower 350 V8 engine, hooked to an automatic transmission and positraction rear end.
Originally listing for $18,879.44, the dealership is now asking $43,999 for the car.
Options include the $145 power door lock system, $183 six-way driver’s power seat, $119 electric rear window defogger, $155 cruise control, $428 aluminum wheels, and $750 for the rare correct Delco ETR AM/FM/CB/Cassette stereo, complete with CB microphone attached to the passenger side of the console.
As you might expect, the car shows extremely well, with its code correct Dark Blue cloth interior, Corvette White paint described as “good-vg, with a nice shine,” and “solid and rust-free frame.” Under the hood, the correct air cleaner, carburetor, intake manifold, valve covers, and ignition shielding are said to still be in place.
More than 30 years ago, a car that looked just like this and had just 13,000 miles was available in my hometown for $16,000. I have always regretted not being able to afford that car back then and had to look twice to make sure this wasn’t the same one, but the odometer reading was too low on this one.
Would you add this to your collection? Personally, it would just be a big paperweight for my desk because adding miles to the odometer would likely hurt the value – definitely a consideration if you’ve just paid $44k for a car!

Not that it makes a difference, but I believe I saw this car going thru the auction during either the spring carlisle event or the fall event 5 or 6 years ago and it may have been in the high 20k range or low 30k range at the time.
Options: Looks to have A/C and alloy wheels, too.
