If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be inside a C8 Corvette while being shot at, here’s your chance without putting yourself in mortal danger.
An amiable Iranian YouTuber named Edwin Sarkissian says his grandfather – a wealthy man who insists on bulletproofing all his vehicles, including his planes and helicopters – had his Rapid Blue C8 Corvette Stingray bulletproofed by a company named Armormax and was willing to put it to the test for a video.
By the way, the entire car has been bulletproofed, including the fenders, hood, etc., but today’s video focuses mainly on the durability of the windshield.

Edwin even is willing to climb into the driver’s seat of the Corvette for the first four shots after instructing his helper to keep his eyes open and carefully aim for the passenger side of the windshield. He also wears an armored vest and a helmet to protect himself, and the top of the car itself is covered with sheets of black armor to protect the fiberglass from flying glass. Edwin emerges safe and sound, as does the car, though he later admits to having used a few choice words while he was being shot at and his helper who fired the guns says his hands are still shaking.

Later, they use a variety of even more powerful weapons to see if the windshield can continue to survive, and – spoiler alert! – it actually does make it through despite being hit with a barrage of bullets. The only downside is that the force of the bullets pushed the glass inward, causing it to splinter slightly and shower the seats and dashboard with small pieces of glass. We’re wondering how hard it will be to vacuum up those little pieces of glass, and also how hard it will be to find a replacement windshield, with all the supply chain issues of the past few years.
Edwin might also want to consider getting some armor-plated underwear to protect himself when he’s in the driver’s seat!

Hey, if I lived that close to “Our Greatest Ally”, I’d want to be armored too, given their tendencies. But I’d choose something other than a Corvette to up-armor.
