[VIDEO] Dennis Collins Buys a Trifecta of Collectible Corvettes

Dennis Collins doesn’t waste any time when he hears about Corvettes for sale.

Witness his latest video on YouTube if you don’t believe us. He first found out about three vintage cars at 3 p.m. on Friday and had them loaded up on his trailer at 10:50 a.m. Saturday!

And man, these are a trifecta of beautiful Corvettes.

It seems that the elderly owner has run into some health problems the past couple of years and decided to liquidate his collection of Corvettes that included two C2s and a high-powered C4.

After a check of the important numbers on all three vehicles, Dennis didn’t let the grass grow under his feet and had the money in the owner’s hands less than 24 hours after a call from the owner’s son.

With a little coaxing, all three cars were able to drive onto the trailer, and you can see it all on his 300th episode of “Coffee Walk with Dennis Collins.”

First up was a 1964 roadster in a dazzling shade of Daytona Blue over a dark blue interior. While it had the base 327/250 horsepower engine, this numbers-matching Sting Ray did have some rare options, including power brakes (2,270 sold for $43.05), two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission (2,480 for $199.10), and power steering (3,126 for $75.35). “Talk about a great driver,” Dennis gushes about this 72,872-mile Corvette with two tops.

Next was a fine example of Dennis’ all-time favorite Corvette, a ’67 roadster in Silver Pearl over white interior with a white soft top and black vinyl hardtop. A sign behind the seats revealed it had undergone a frame-on restoration at some point and includes the tank sticker and a 327/300 engine, manual brakes, and four-speed manual transmission. It also has the distinction of having headrests that appeared on only 1,762 Corvettes that year (a $42.15 option).

Despite loving the ’67s, Dennis admits that his favorite catch of the day is probably a 1989 Callaway coupe, done up in red over red. Back in the day, Callaway compared its masterpiece to the big dogs of the day and the Corvette whipped them all – being faster, better stopping, better handling, and better fuel economy than a Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach, and Porsche 911 Turbo. Oh, and did we mention that the Corvette’s price tag was the lowest of these four supercars?

Congratulations to Dennis and his team for snagging three very beautiful Corvettes! It’s worth a half-hour of your time to check them out. We wonder, which one is your favorite?

  1. Dennis doesn’t mess around and he knows how to get it done! I love all three of these Vettes. Every one of them is winner winner chicken dinner as Dennis would say. If I owned them I wouldn’t be able to let them go.

  2. Would have liked more information about the replaced trim tag for the ’67. Why was it replaced and what were the differences, if any? And he mentioned having the tank sticker, so which trim tag matched the tank sticker? If the new trim tag is the match, then wouldn’t that suggest that the tank sticker is a reproduction? So many questions!
