Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for March 12th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Thanks for joining us this Sunday. Mike was busy over the week, not only delivering new Corvettes to customers, but also having previous customers stop by and show their appreciation to the Corvette seller. Some even bring gifts as you will see below! In terms of new Corvette deliveries, check out the customer photos as they pick up their new rides at the Maryland dealership, the National Corvette Museum, and we even have a courtesy delivery out west. ~Over the last 45 years many clients have shown their appreciation for my assistance with their Corvette purchases. Back in October 2012 is when Hurricane Sandy wiped out my finished basement and all it’s contents which included much of my Corvette and baseball memorabilia. Steve D. of Boston , Massachusetts had seen the post card I hade made up in 2011 when a Boston client had invited me as his guest to a Boston Red Sox baseball game. That client had my name put up on the Fenway Park scoreboard for a pretty darn cool experience! Steve wanted to do that one better as he had worked on the demolition crew when The Boston Garden was torn down. So Steve had said he had a sports gift for me but he couldn’t mail it..so a few years ago he drove down to The Corvettes at Carlisle, PA event and handed me this cornerstone of bricks and cement from when he ran the demolition crew. This thing must weigh 35 lbs which is why he didn’t want to mail it and he included an 8×10 of the demolition job along with a ticket stub that he found in the sub basement, most likely hadn’t seen the light of day for decades! I’m a fan of the sports from a long ago era and had never been to Boston until that ballgame at Fenway and now I own a piece of the historic Boston Garden…all because of Corvettes!

Sometime this Summer I will deliver my 6,000th Corvette and I look forward to sharing that occasion with all Corvette Enthusiasts! I filled the trunks with all sorts of goodies for milestone delivery #3,000, 4,000 and 5,000, let’s see what I can come up with for lucky delivery #6,000!

~Buck Williams and I attended University of Maryland at the same time, he excelled In Basketball for the Terps and I was on the Wrestling team. Buck went on to play 17 years in the NBA. (Nets, Trailblazers and Knicks) Today he stopped by my office while his vehicle was in for Service. He is looking forward to obtaining a new Corvette and I’m just hopeful he will fit. He was 6ft 8 inches back in the day and hopefully I can cut him down to size when we play Golf this year. We always reminisce about the good ol’ days on campus in College Park, Maryland but today we talked NBA history and the past Hall of Famers that he got to spend so much time with during and after his career. Buck is one fine gentleman and I’m glad to call him my friend.

~Todays visitor to my Chevrolet office is Tom M. Of Ridgely, Maryland. Tom bought his Torch Red 2019 Z06 and a new Silverado from me which he brought 90 miles from his home to our Criswell service department today. Tom knew I had wanted an Alexander Ovechkin autographed game used puck and since he is one of the Washington Capitals TV booth guys he kindly brought me this signed puck! Check out Tom’s Stanley Cup ring from the 2018 Championship! Tom is always gracious to all Hockey fans and let’s them try on his ring and take pictures! Awesome customer and friend. Stop by Chesapeake Car Wash in Annapolis, Maryland most anytime and see Tom. His Car Wash is upscale in every way. I could hang there all day as it’s that nice. The Corvette Annapolis Club hold their monthly meetings in his detail center! Where do I sign up?!!

~I was interviewed a few years ago by the Editor of Cigar Aficionado magazine for an article with the 2020 Mid engine Corvette and its debut. 800 word article came out for the June 2020 issue. Thank you Tom Gibson for the referral.

~Incredible history of this 1954 Corvette and it’s first owner, an 18 year old high school gal! *PS (There is no truth to the rumor that I was the original sales rep!)

~My favorite episode from Jay Leno’s garage goes through his 1963 Corvette Split Window with Fuel Injection. The test drive interview is well worth watching!

~David W. of Hicksville, New York is a world class Aerobatics pilot with planes and his background will come in handy after taking museum delivery of his Pearl White 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible. David took delivery at the Corvette museum in Bowling Green, KY. Equipment list: 3LZ, competition seats, CF nacelles/top, front lift, ceramic brakes, black exhaust tips and much more. The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally. I recommend their process the next time you take delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY!

~Fred B. of Swedesboro, New Jersey placed his factory order with me several times for different Corvettes but I bet with this Corvette order he was the most excited. The Corvette Museum staff rolled out the red carpet for his new Carbon Flash Metallic 2023 Corvette Z06 coupe and they had a blast throughout the whole process. Fred ordered a loaded up 70th anniversary special edition and drove it home from Bowling Green, KY to their New Jersey home.

~Yaser W. And his cousin Maen M. of Burr Ridge, Illinois factory ordered from me a Black 2023 Corvette Z51 coupe with Adrenaline Red interior. We just completed the Paperwork/payment process via Fed Ex and it’s ready to get shipped from Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, MD to their Illinois home. Equipment list: 3LT pkg, bright red calipers, gloss black forged wheels and Z51.

~Thomas V. of Reno, Nevada factory ordered his new 2023 Red Mist Corvette coupe from me and I had it drop shipped for courtesy delivery to a Chevrolet dealership in Phoenix, AZ. Thomas flew in and drove home his world class Sports car. Equipment list: 2LT, front lift, magnetic ride, performance exhaust, and more.

~Chris and Chinamma D. of Hamilton, OHIO placed their factory order with me and yesterday took delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Chris ordered a Caffeine Metallic 2023 Corvette Z51 convertible with Natural interior and it looks incredible! Equipment list: 3LT pkg, competition seats, magnetic ride, CF wheels, dark stealth front emblem, Z51 pkg and microfiber seat inserts. Here is a note after their family delivery yesterday.

“Everything went great. Stayed at the brand new Embassy suites with swanky decor and really great breakfast omelet station and then woke up early and picked up on Friday, 3/10. Went through orientation with Tabb who was super cool. Got to meet Shane, Becky and a lot of the NCM team along the way. The car looks and sounds totally amazing! Got to take my family on the assembly plant tour with Gary as our tour guide and he made it memorable and a lot of fun. I’m definitely living the dream. ~Charlie P. of Gaithersburg, MD is a local business owner that has bought 90 + Chevrolet trucks and cars from me since 2002. He needed to take delivery this morning of a new Silverado 1500 and knew it was my day off but I met him at the dealership and had him in and out inside 20 minutes.

~Chip C. of Clover, South Carolina was referred to me by his next door neighbor who happens to be my Corvette customer (Todd). They drove up 6 1/2 hours today in Todd’s C8 Corvette so that Chip could drive home his new Riverside Blue 2023 Camaro ZL1 coupe that he factory ordered. Equipment list: power sunroof, Black metallic center stripe, navigation, Auto transmission, red seat belts and much more.
