Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Mike put together an outstanding post for us this weekend, and he shares some of his first of what we hope will be many deliveries of the all-new Corvette Z06! ~Received a planned visit from General Motors finest today, Kanira Yancey was on hand to award me with the Top Chevrolet Sales Consultant award for 2022. The 2nd picture includes The General Manager for all the Criswell Auto stores, Managing partner Kevin Szot. Kevin has worked for Criswell for 40 years and hired me in August of 2009. The rest as they say is history.
~Everything we thought we knew about the first 1953 Corvette VIN 001 could be wrong! Watch this video from Corey Peterson who believes he found the first production Corvette.
~All this talk of Corvette vin 001 for 1953 has me remembering back 3+ decades when I was in my friend Jim Stohlman’s office and behind him were the pictures you see for this story. Of course I had to inquire further and Jim not only told me the whole story but he provided me copies of these pictures. Jim’s Grandfather owned Stohlman Chevrolet in Washington, DC at the corner of 33rd and M Street( notice the cobblestone streets October 1953). In the picture is Jim’s Father, Edwin L. Stohlman Jr at 30 yrs of age handing the keys to a brand new 1953 Corvette Vin E53F001014 to General Donald C. Yates, 3rd in command to General Eisenhower!! This same Corvette won a Top Flight award Jan 24th 1981 by the National Corvette Restorers Society(NCRS)… side note, my NCRS membership # happens to be 19053…all by chance! In 2002 , The 4th picture shows Corvette 014 on the Barrett Jackson Auction stage and they heard that Jim Stohlman was in the audience so they asked Jim to come up on stage and he held the picture of his Father doing the rumored very first 1953 Corvette delivery October 1953.

~Do you like good stories? Who doesn’t right. Well here’s a good story from the County that I grew up in many decades ago. ~”Safa’s Park Cleaning, 215 Stuyvesant Avenue, Lyndhurst, NJ in 1960. Owned by Russel Safar at that time, he had a policy to always have the pockets of garments checked before cleaning. In 1957, an employee checked a dropped off garment and found three diamond rings valued at $2,000. The owner of the clothing was immediately called, and she was very happy that the cleaners were so honest. Today the building is still there (albeit modernized), and it is still a cleaners.” I of course like the first gen 1958 Corvette sitting out front!
~Pahrump, Nevada…special delivery so that we can enjoy the experience of the Z06 owners school at Spring Mountain Racetrack.
~Charlie K. of Medford, New Jersey has bought several Corvettes from me over the past decade and today was his delivery day. Yes this Z06 and all 2,000 + C8’s that have been sold by me and delivered are sold at MSRP.He spent the morning driving down in a Hertz rent a car and now he is headed home in his new Caffeine metallic 2023 Corvette Z06 convertible. The two tone Natural/black interior looks fantastic with this paint color. I’m looking forward to his call/email upon his return home to hear his opinion of his new ride. Charlie got home and parked it under his Zeus Bronze C8 that he bought from me in 2020.
~Kevin W. of Clarksville, Tennessee factory ordered from me a Hypersonic gray 2023 Corvette convertible and this past week took delivery at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. This color looks great with Adrenaline red interior and body color accents. Email from Kevin:

~Joe D. of Scotch Plains, New Jersey last Corvette was a 1984! Today he drove home in his new Hypersonic Gray 2023 Corvette with Natural interior. He was thrilled with his color combo and excited to take it home to NJ, approx 210 mile ride. They even picked up some NJ bagels for me.
~Kevin H. of Odessa, Florida ordered from me a Red Mist 2023 Corvette with Natural interior, his 4th Corvette that he has owned. The Sterling silver dual racing stripes look fantastic on Red Mist and his new Corvette matches his 1969 Motorcycle in his garage! I can’t to see a picture of the two next to each other! His friend Chris flew up with him so that he could have a co pilot for the 1200 mile ride home.
~Tom G. of Collierville, Tennessee flew in last night and today took delivery of his new 70th anniversary edition 2023 Corvette Convertible in Pearl White, #2517. His only other Corvette was a 2003 Z06. Tom was thrilled with his new Corvette and looking forward to his ride back to Tennessee.
~Pam H. of Severn, Maryland got on my C8 list immediately after driving in her Husband Gary’s C8 after The Carlisle event 19 months ago. Gary has bought 6 Corvettes from me the last 12 years and now it’s Pam’s turn! Pam ordered a Ceramic Matrix Gray 2023 Corvette Coupe with Sky Cool gray and tension blue seat belts. Fantastic color combo.
~Don S. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina factory ordered from me his new Elkhart Lake Blue 2023 Corvette coupe with Natural interior. We completed the paperwork via Fed Ex and this week Plycar trucking will enclose trailer his Corvette to his Myrtle Beach home.
