Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for Jan 29th

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

We’re back for another weekly Delivery Dispatch and if you’re a fan of old Corvette photos, you will enjoy this one. In addition to a few new C8 deliveries, Mike met two brothers during one of his trips to Spring Mountain who grew up in Elkhart Lake and they have some great old vintage Corvette racing photos from the historic track. Mike’s collection of vintage and throwbacks is also outstanding so scroll to the bottom and then let us know your favorites!

~12 years ago at 2pm on Saturday 1/29/11 I received a call from my oldest sister and I was at the dealership. I could tell she didn’t sound right and her words were like a blur. My only brother had passed suddenly at the age of 55. He lived in NY state and was a Porsche guy. I have nothing but fond memories of the guy that taught me how to talk, walk, drive and everything in between. The first picture was taken 30+ years ago as I took him for a ride in my 1959 Corvette. The 2nd picture is one of my favorites as it’s the start of his driveway. Fall of 2005 I took delivery of one of the first C6 Z06’s and he had invited me up to play in a charity golf tournament. I arrive there and the first thing I wanted to do was take him for a spirited ride in my new C6 Z06 on his mountain roads and yes, scare the crap out of him as I often liked to do behind the wheel of one of my Corvettes. So a week goes by and I get a call from my brother and he goes “hey Mike” I said yes Scott? He goes “I bought a new Porsche turbo cabriolet yada yada today.” I said that’s nice Scott, enjoy your beautiful new sports car. He goes, “hey Mike” I said yes Scott? He goes ”I got it up to 68 mph!” I said, that’s nice Scott but you know it will go a lot higher than that? He said, “ but Mike…that was on my driveway!” He got me hook line and sinker as he lived on 14 wooded acres that backed up to 2,200 wooded acres of park land so his driveway was about 800 yards long that twisted thru the woods and over a stone bridge with a couple feet of rise! To this day I have no idea how he did that! Makes me smile every time I think of my older brother, gone but never forgotten.

~Last October at Spring Mountain racetrack in Pahrump, Nevada I was sitting at the fire pit and these two brothers were sitting there just hanging out. I started a conversation and found out they had been members there almost from day 1 back in the 90’s and they invited me by their garage the next day to see some of their cars that they race. Jim starts telling me he basically grew up on the racetrack at Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin. I said I was a big fan of that track but had never been. Stopped by his garage the next day and he has these pictures on his wall. I asked him how did he get them all and he said he bought out a collection of over 2,500 pictures from a photographer. Then Jim tells me he owns the Throttlestop in Elkhart Lake and advises me to check out his website. Holy smokes, what an array of cars that he owns and sells from his Wisconsin business. I enjoyed our talks so much that we met up the following evening at the fire pit behind The Clubhouse. Jim and his brother had an incredible recall of all things car related from the past that it truly was tremendous fun. I mailed Jim a gift as a thank you for sharing these pictures and this is the first time they have been shown. If you are ever in Wisconsin stop by the Throttlestop and enjoy the Show. ~Kent B. of Moreno Valley, California had the red carpet rolled out yesterday for his Museum delivery in Bowling Green, KY. Kent factory ordered from me a loaded up Torch Red 2023 Corvette Z51 Convertible with most every option. The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally. I recommend their process the next time you take delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY!

~Edwin and Veronica K. of Silver Spring, Maryland took delivery today of their very first Corvette, not sure Edwin slept too well last eve. Edwin ordered his Black 2023 Corvette coupe and had our Corvette service team add the Carbon Flash high wing spoiler along with the Visible carbon fiber ground effects and front splitter. Smiles all around this morning.

~Steve F. of Corona, California factory ordered his New Hypersonic gray 2023 Corvette coupe from me and wanted our Corvette service team to prep it. We are in the process of Payment/paperwork via Fed Ex and next it will be shipped from Maryland to his California home.
