This month Corvette Mike wants to play matchmaker and connect you with one of these three great Corvettes. Take your pick of a classic C1 roadster, a screaming yellow C3 L89 bruiser, or a modern C5 cruiser.

1962 Fawn Beige Convertible

1962 Fawn Beige Convertible

1962 was a transitional year for Corvette as the revolutionary 1963 Corvette was just 1 year away. In it’s final year of first-generation production, all Corvettes came with restyled accent moldings in the coves, new lower rocker panels, and a host of new 327 cubic inch powerplants. Additionally, all side coves were now body color.

This final-year C1 is just in from the family who owned it since 1970. Heck, that’s longer that your author has been alive! The car has been lovingly maintained throughout that timeframe. Today the Fawn Beige paint and fawn interior both remain in nice condition. A black soft top completes the look when not using the body colored hard top. Power comes from the numbers matching 327/300hp engine that’s linked to a 4-speed manual transmission. This California Corvette has a clean, rust-free frame and rolls on radial tires. According to team Corvette Mike “It looks, runs and drives great!”

1969 Yellow L89 Coupe

1969 Yellow L89 Coupe

The top dog L88 grabs all the headlines when we talk collectable C3 Corvettes. However, we can’t forget the more widely available L89. RPO L89 was selected by just 390 buyers in 1969. It added aluminum heads to the already potent 435hp L71 engine. While it didn’t add more horsepower, the lighter heads removed a significant amount of weight from the nose of the car.

1969 Yellow L89 Coupe

This stunning Daytona Yellow on black leather interior L89 coupe was delivered new through Daniels Chevrolet in Marina Del Ray, CA. and was previously owned by Corvette Mike himself. It’s now returned from the collection where it spent the last 20 years. In additional to the honking L89, the car features a 4-speed manual transmission, leather seats, and power brakes among other amenities.

The Stingray has received a body off restoration and shows no evidence of any prior damage. Today it runs and drives very well with no known issues. Documentation includes a partial tank sticker, NCRS Shipping Data Report, and Protect-O-Plate. The various stamps and tags have all been certified through Al Grenning’s CCAS service.

If you’re looking for a rare early C3 Corvette that won’t cost you L88 money, then take a long look at this hypnotizing L89 coupe.

2003 50th Anniversary Convertible

2003 50th Anniversary Convertible

Corvette turned 50 in 2003. To celebrate, Chevrolet released the 50th anniversary package for coupe and convertible models. RPO 1SC cost $5,000 and added special Anniversary Red Paint, a Shale colored interior, unique 5-spoke pewter painted wheels, and magnetic ride control. A total of 11,632 (33% of production) Corvettes got the 50th anniversary treatment that year. Of those, 7,547 were convertibles.

2003 50th Anniversary Convertible

This handsome 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette has travelled just 3,200 miles since new. It’s powered by the 350hp LS1 engine that’s backed by the desirable 6-speed manual transmission. It presents just as you’d expect a 3,200-mile car to present, appearing virtually as new. Like all anniversary cars this one is loaded up with the Bose stereo, automatic climate control, body side moldings, and CD changer. Add all that up and you’ve got the perfect Corvette for a long cruise down the Pacific Coast Highway with your significant other.

  1. Always good to see fresh stock, always disappointed to find no prices. If really “for sale,”
    price should be there.
