They say that all good things must come to an end, and that looks to be the case of the 3LT two-tone interior combo called Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow. The color was introduced in 2021 and it served as the exclusive interior for the 2022 Corvette IMSA GTLM Championship C8.R Edition.

A listener of the Corvette Today Podcast reached out to Steve who sent me a note asking if we knew if the Strike Yellow/Sky Cool Gray Seats would be offered on the 2023 model year Corvettes. Unfortunately, we do not see the combination on the 2023 Corvette Z06 Visualizer so we jumped back to our previous post on the 2023 Model Year Order Info which leaked from the GM Workbench System last month and we do not see the “HT7/HFC Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow interior” on either of the 3LZ/3LT interiors.

We believe the Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow will be replaced with the new 3LZ/3LT interior combination that will be used for the 70th Anniversary Editions that Chevy calls “two-tone Ceramic leather.”

We are still waiting for the full production count for the 2022s which are expected to wrap up on May 6th, but we do know the count will include the Strike Yellow seats on 1,000 C8.R editions. For 2021, the official production count was 246 on GT2 seats (95 Coupes/151 Convertibles) and just 28 for the Competition seats (10 Coupe and 18 Convertible).

The 2023 Corvette Order Guide is expected next Monday, March 21st and that should be the final word on if the Strike Yellow seats are being retired in 2023.

For those of you with the color on a non-C8.R edition, congratulations! It looks like you got yourselves a rare one!

  1. It’s not ugly, but I personally wouldn’t want that light of an interior color. With the vent holes, it looks to be dingy before you even get any fart smell on the seats.

  2. I’ve thought this looks more like colors suited for a boat. This looks like it will really be hard to keep clean, and will stain easily. To each their own, I’m good with my jet black interior.

  3. it’s being replaced by White leather with red stitching only availble with the White Pearl paint exterior
