The final order cycle is coming up for the 2022 Corvette and in the memo to dealers sent out today, Chevrolet has announced that the pricing for the 2023 Corvette model year will be officially revealed on March 23rd.

We caught this surprise from our friend Rick ‘Corvette’ Conti in a new video he put out today. However, this good news is tempered as the memo says nothing specific about the Z06 and in fact, it’s titled “Model Year 2023 Stingray”. Will pricing be announced for the Z06 as well on the 23rd? We’ll just have to wait and see.

So far, Chevrolet appears to be sticking to their schedule with the 2023 Corvette Order Guide expected on March 21st and then dealers can start adding pre-orders on March 24th. Officially, ordering for the 2023 Corvette opens on March 31st, but there are some real questions on whether or not the Z06 will be delayed at the start of MY ’23 production.

In other ordering news, there is a new major constraint announced that will be a major blow to those trying to get a final 2022 Corvette. Magnetic Selective Ride Control is fully constrained for the last order cycle of 2022 Corvettes. Looking back at the 2021 final production numbers, Mag Ride was installed on 53.6% of all Corvettes, so this constraint is going to hit some enthusiasts hard. Also still on constraint are the Engine Appearance Package and the Carbon Flash High Wing.

Rear Park Assist is also still unavailable but the good news is that it once again will appear on Corvettes beginning after April 11th. For those Corvettes built without Rear Park Assist, we are still looking at the 4th quarter for the parts to be made available for retrofitting. Stay tuned on that.

So with the focus of today’s memo being Stingray specific, might we be looking at a delayed launch of the Z06 that will commence sometime after the expected May 9th start-up for the 2023 model year? I’ve been trying to be optimistic about this and I keep harking to the fact that why would Chevy move up the 2023 model year start if it wasn’t ready to build Z06s on Day 1. As members of the Corvette Team still aren’t driving their own Z06 CTF test cars, it could be very possible that final validation is taking longer than expected. Of course, there are still supply chain issues and now there is even a war in Ukraine for delays to be blamed on. Corvette enthusiasts are getting tired of the wait-and-see process so hopefully, if there is a delay, GM will just come out and tell us what is happening with the new car.

As far as other production news is concerned, the Corvette Assembly Plant has surpassed VIN 18000 this week. We’ve also heard that masks are now optional for workers at all GM North American facilities so hopefully, things will continue to work their way back to normal for the men and women who build America’s Favorite Sports Car.

  1. I drive by a home that always has a Corvette parked in front. They rotate. I saw a ZO6 there two weeks ago. Since Milford is close, the home must belong to someone on the Corvette team.
