[VIDEO] Cold Calling the Top Corvette Dealers for 2023 Z06/Stingray Ordering Info

We’ve all heard how unprecedented the demand is for the 2023 Corvette Z06 and this new video from Mike at Brink of Speed hammers home that message after he calls five dealers to inquire about ordering. We know that many new buyers are coming late to the table and unfortunately, they are finding out that it will be a multi-year wait for an available allocation. We expected that Mike would see the same and the dealer responses are just a glimpse into what Corvette enthusiasts are facing when trying to order a new Corvette.

Mike calls the Big 3 Corvette dealers first – Ciocca, MacMulkin, and Criswell – and then two others to find out about ordering a new Z06 and how long of a process those dealers are currently expecting. Related to his inquiries are if dealers are seeing greater (and faster) availability for the 2023 Stingray now that everyone seems to want the new C8Z, as well as asking if their pricing is MSRP.

The good news is that those top 3 dealers are selling customer-ordered Z06s and Stingrays at MSRP, but for those still trying to secure a spot, you are facing a very long wait to get a Z06, and even Stingrays are now looking at greater than 12 months.

The fourth dealer called is Bachman Chevrolet in Louisville. These guys are selling with market adjustments and the rep can’t really discuss what the market adjustment will be, saying that it will be based on the market at the time of the order.

The final dealer called was Holiday Chevrolet in Whitesboro, TX and the rep says their waitlist on Stingrays is only about six to eight months but the Z06 is still looking to be late 2023 or early 2024. They do charge $10K over MSRP on the Stingrays while Z06 pricing is to be determined.

Here’s a quick recap from Mike’s phone calls:

  • Ciocca – Stingray’s are 18 months and growing, No more deposits taken on the Z06.
  • MacMulkin – 12 months to get a Stingray, two years for the Z06 (depending on allocations).
  • Criswell – 12-15 Months for a Stingray, No more deposits taken on the Z06.
  • Bachman – Three-year wait for Stingray, Z06 ordering cut off. C8s sold with Market Adjustment.
  • Holiday – 6-8 months for the Stingray, Z06 in late 2023 or 2024. Sold with Market Adjustment.

For those that are still looking for a Z06 allocation or are looking for a Stingray, what Mike shows here is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of responses. As we mentioned when publishing the Top 100 Corvette Dealers of 2021, the majority of new Corvettes are sold outside of those top dealers. So if you really want a new C8 Stingray or Z06, you have to be willing to put in the work by cold calling Chevrolet dealers on the phone as Mike did and asking those same questions. At some point, one of those Chevy dealers you called just might give you a response that will change your life.

  1. I spoke to a Salesman at the dealership I deal with when they had the ZO6 there on the floor. He told me over 2,000 orders are waiting to be placed. Think I’m sticking with my 2020 Z51, I’m very happy with it, grinning from ear to ear every time I drive it! ?? I did my 1 1/2 year wait, getting too old for doing that again. This is the ONLY car I’ve ever waited so long for.

  2. Such a situation should guarantee no more under $100k Corvettes anymore – nice going until the inflation shitstorm really hits.

  3. Wow! Let Chevy and the dealerships ride that wave as long as they can. I used to hate the dealer mark-up, but then I remembered I’m a Capitalist and believe in the free market system. If a dealer sells at MSRP, the vehicle runs a good chance of ending up on another dealer’s lot at the going mark-up.

I’ll be sticking with my C7 Z51 7-speed that I bought new for $20,000 under MSRP. Call me crazy!

  4. BobMan, If you’re crazy, I’m right there with you. I bought my C7Z06 new for 20K under sticker also. Then spent 12K to get a mod to get it to 681/675 WHP/TQ. I am a happy camper with a monster for a car!

  5. I’ve talked to a dealer here in Richardson, Tx and you can order a c8 and get in next year 2023

  6. In the New York Times they quoted via interview with president of corvette division. He said he very upset that dealers are selling new cars way above sticker price . I have visited a few and the dealer wants way above sticker price . I told him that GM with what he is doing. I suggest GM should go to the dealership as a secret shopper for themselves to see what is going on.I am waiting for Mike Furman to call me as he sells at the sticker price. I challenge GM to find me a dealer that will take my order now and sell it to me at sticker price. GM call me Barry Ringelheim 516-662-3790

  7. I refuse to buy if there is a “market adjustment”. Dealers make money hand over fist selling at MSRP. I refuse to give away my hard earned money. I’ll wait until there is no markup.

  8. If a real change in the economy with inflation, higher interest rates, stock market problems and continued inflated gas prices, some people could be backing out of deposits or purchases at the time. I wonder how many who are on lists are intending to resell. If the Corvette interest is not heavily effected, I think many dealers have deposits for Z06’s that may never be made due to the supply that cannot meet the demand before C8 production is done. I would happily pay $10,000 over for a Z06 if I could get it 18 months earlier but I don’t think that is enough money for these dealers.
