Caught this tidbit from our friends at the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com regarding the new Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Package that is slated for the 2023 Corvette Z06, and hopefully it will most likely be offered on the 2023 Corvette Stingray as well.

Since we have to wait until March 21st for the Order Guide to drop (which tells us all about the options and trim groups available), we’ve been relying on the 2023 Corvette Z06 visualizer to tell us which options can be ordered based on your trim package. When recently playing with the configurator, our friends at the MECF found that the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Package will require the 3LZ trim level.

The visualizer shows us when adding options requires a higher trim level:

The Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Package is one of our favorite new options for the 2023 model year and the addition of the option adds carbon fiber trim to the center console and door panels, and it also extends up on the dash with the carbon fiber trim outlining the battle axe.

Our friend Rick Conti was also talking about the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Trim Package in his most recent video, and yes Rick, your eagle eyes did pick up something I missed initially which is that little raised fin on the side of the Drive Mode selector:

Knowing the troubles that GM has had with keeping its visible carbon fiber components in stock during the pandemic, we can see why they will be keeping the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Trim Package confined to just 3LZ/3LT interiors.

Is the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Trim Package an option that you just have to have? Did your build just get more expensive because you were targeting a lower trim package? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Can u help me get to my order through Mike Furnan in Maryland I want to get a call my number came up so I can order my 2022

  2. I have played with the visualizer and found it buggy.
So, maybe the release for ordering will let us know for sure.

  3. Customers wanted a Corvette that looked more like a McLaren, Ferrari or Lamborghini…well, welcome to the methodology these European brands kill customers on the cost of carbon fiber (CF) options. You can “easily” spend $60k to $80k (or more), in CF options on a new McLaren or Ferrari. People asked for it….and Chevrolet is more than happy to accommodate…as long as their suppliers can meet demand, which we’re already hearing about C8 engine CF constraints.

  4. Sure the CF interior bits would be nice, the question is how much? Less than $1k then yes for sure, I am sure it will be much more. Not a worry as it will be years until my number will come up to order one!

  5. It’s so gm can make all the money possible Most people don’t need/want the 3lz package and never use half of its uses and to connect the cf to it is just a money grab. Also who knows when my number will come up??

  6. If C8 wants to be considered an exotic car, then it must have carbon fiber. Hate the player, not the game.

  7. Should be a Z06 only option. Need more options (e.g., color, interior pieces, etc.) that are just for the Z06.

  8. Houston, you have a great point, but Chevrolet accountants dream of every C8 being 3LZ equipped, you know… because of the “$$$$.” At least the new Z06 will have one hell of a unique V8, which is just fine with me. ?
