[VIDEO] Simon Pagenaud Does Not Like Riding Shotgun in a C8 Corvette Pace Car

The @IndyCar twitter account brought us another classic feature with IndyCar drivers hot lapping the official C8 Corvette Pace Car.

Grabbing the keys to the C8 Corvette this week was Team Penske drivers Simon Pagenaud and Scott McLaughlin. The duo had previously driven a Corvette Pace Car with Pagenaud behind the wheel at the Indianapolis road course. Now the roles are reversed as McLaughlin takes Pagenaud for the ride of his life in a hot lap of the Music City Grand Prix!

The saying goes that race car drivers make terrible passengers and Pagenaud was expressing his doubts even before getting in the car. McLaughlin said it is his first time driving a Corvette, and as a native of New Zealand, he confirms that the “Right foot is the go foot, right?”

Once the car is running on the track, Pagenaud is struggling to find something to hold on to, alternating between grabbing the Great Wall of Buttons to the front dash, while his facial expressions tell you just what he thinks.

There’s also a great moment as the rear of the car gets loose and McLaughlin quickly corrects it and lets out a whoop as Pagenaud laughs. It’s a fun three and a half minutes so enjoy:
