[SPIED] Camouflaged C8 Corvette Prototype Captured Driving Sunday in Detroit

They’re back! Well, at least one is!

If the sighting of this camouflaged C8 Corvette prototype doesn’t make you happy, perhaps you should see medical advice for depression. As for me, I take great joy in seeing this prototype Corvette driving in the wild this Memorial Day weekend.

The lone prototype was spied and captured by the daughter of a Brian Kissel who promptly shared them on the MidEngineCorvetteForum.com.

My daughter was driving home today, when she came upon this. This is on I 275 just North of the 8 mile Northville exit. Can’t tell much about it, but they are testing something new. So, don’t give up thinking GM isn’t going to bless us with future models.

This prototype has some orange plugs sticking out the rear fascia for testing purposes. The previous sightings of camouflaged C8 Corvettes following the reveal have also shown a number of plugs that have led watchers to believe these could be the hybrid models being testing. There is even a reference to hybrids in the 2020 Corvette’s Owner’s Manual. However, we are not seeing the other connectors that were on the front of those other prototypes. GM has previously denied that any of the previously sighted camouflaged C8 Corvettes are hybrids.

There was also discussion that forthcoming models of the C8 may have been delayed due to the coronavirus shutdowns and for that, we’ll just have to wait and see.

  4. I have a question, I ordered back in August of 2019, Originally I had the extra aero dynamics package with carbon fiber. My dealer did contact me and told me they were no longer able to install these. Okay $4800.00 savings but I just read an article now the high wing is being discontinued? mine is supposed to have it. can anyone confirm this is true? mine is going to production any day now.
