Each week, Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvette Stingrays, Grand Sports, Z06s and ZR1s to his customers who come from all parts of the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.
Mike kicks off this week’s delivery report with discussion of the C8 Corvette and he offers up some pro-tips on the ordering process. The week we see some great looking C7 Corvettes being delivered including a milestone delivery on a Callaway Corvette. ~4 times over the last several decades (19 Corvettes owned) I have been able to drive my Corvette on an everyday basis, twice with C4 Convts, once with a C6 Convt and now with my 2019 Stingray Cpe. Driving a Corvette is pure fun and at the end of the day, it really is like therapy. The Corvette world is busy in every way but here are just a few tips on the C8, next-generation Corvette coming soon. Yes, pricing is being announced this coming week…No, that doesn’t mean you can start placing your orders now. Hold on to your thoughts of what you would like to order until your actual allocation comes up. Why? Because you will change/adjust over time and the last thing you need to do is start sending your info to the dealer because that is how mistakes happen. This is my 5th Generation change of the Corvette that I have sold thru and trust me, you don’t want your Corvette ordered wrong and the dealer doesn’t want your order wrong. Yes, I have 600+ allocations for the 2020 model year Corvette and No, they are not sold out! The average is 35% minimum that will drop off the deal folder list for various reasons. Will there be constraints? Yes, start-up of a new generation Corvette always has constraints. Be patient as the new Mid Engine Corvette is well worth the wait. I average 100 emails and 50 phone calls per day…every day…and no I do not have an assistant.

~Charles B. of Beverly Hills, California heard of me thru the Sports Car World so 8 weeks ago he called me to place his special order. I had it set up to drop ship for courtesy delivery at his local Chevrolet dealer in Huntington Beach, CA and it arrived this week. Charles ordered a Long Beach Red metallic 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Convt with two-tone adrenaline red/black interior and black top. Equipment list: 7 spd manual transmission, chrome wheels, and 2LT pkg.
~Steve K. of Harleysville, PA factory ordered one of the absolute coolest 2019 Corvettes possible, a Z06 specially prepared by Callaway with 757 horsepower!! This is one stealth looking Corvette. Steve’s order got shipped directly from the Corvette plant to Callaway headquarters to get upfitted and then shipped directly to Steve’s home in PA. Equipment list: CF painted ground effects pkg, chrome badges, Auto transmission, black wheels, Z07 performance pkg, 2LZ pkg and much more. This is one Corvette that is a Car Show all by itself and is Callaway delivery #100 since Criswell became a Callaway dealer in 2009.
~Randy and Sharon D. of Arlington, Virginia heard about me on the internet and made an appt. to come to Criswell and see all the choices. His only other Corvette was a 1986 and he kept that less than two years as he was dissatisfied with the C4 ride. Together they put together their factory order for a Torch Red 2019 Grand Sport Corvette with black suede insert interior and red seatbelts. Equipment list: Auto transmission, 2LT pkg, transparent roof, cf badge pkg, red calipers, black wheels, navigation /PDR and much more. The Captain was thrilled with the whole process. Two super nice folks are joining the Northern Virginia Corvette Club and have already reserved their spot in October to join me in Nevada at the Ron Fellows Spring Mtn race track in Pahrump.
~Rich C. of Bridgeview, Illinois put his special order together and 6 weeks later his very first Corvette arrived here at Criswell Chevrolet. Paperwork process has just been completed and Plycar trucking will deliver his dream Corvette straight to his driveway. Equipment list for his Elkhart Lake Blue metallic 2019 Z51 Stingray: 7 spd manual transmission, CF badge pkg, magnetic ride control, battery protect pkg, red calipers, Black Motorsports wheels, wheel locks, CF painted mirrors, Red seat belts, navigation /PDR and 2LT pkg.
~Terry B. of Seneca, Illinois reached out to me 7 weeks ago to place his factory order for a Long Beach Red 2019 Z06 cpe with Spice Red interior. Fantastic combo! The paperwork/payment process is now completed and Plycar trucking is due in any day now to deliver his new 650HP Corvette to his driveway. Equipment list: 7spd manual transmission, visible carbon fiber ground effects, CF good stinger, CF instrument panel, black wheels, performance air intake, CF mirrors, and 3LZ pkg.
~Ed G. of Virginia Beach, Virginia got on my ZR1 list early but wanted a late production ZR1. Ed placed his factory order with me and I had it drop shipped to his local dealer in Norfolk, VA. Last week Ed took delivery of ZR1 #2,759 and he sent me some pictures of his stunning Blade Silver with Spice Red interior 2019 ZR1 Cpe. Ed has owned many great sports cars including a Lamborghini Diablo and Ferrari Testerrosa 328S. He said the ZR1 is by far the best value! Equipment list: 7 Spd manual transmission, 3ZR pkg, Competition seats, Dual roof pkg, red calipers, chrome wheels, ZTK track performance pkg and red seat belts.
~Wes C. of Lynnwood, Washington reached out 2,750 miles to place his 2019 Z06 order with me just before allocations ended for Z06 orders. He wanted it shipped to Criswell so our mechanics could prep it before Plycar Trucking takes it via enclosed trailer to his home across the US of A. Wes ordered Blade Silver with gray interior and the red seat belts which really pops on the inside. Equipment list: Competition seats, dual roof pkg, chrome badges, chrome wheels, carbon fiber dash, 7 spd manual transmission, and 3LZ pkg.

I enjoyed the pictures of Malcolm Konners Chevrolet, back in the day it was the place to go to buy your dream Corvette. It was September of 1967 and being 19 years old & tired of drag racing my 1966 Plymouth Satellite I decided it was time for me to step up and buy my first brand new Corvette, Paramus being just a short trip thru Bergen County from Rockland County New York where I lived at the time I naturally went to Konners to see what was still available as I had seen pictures of the ’68 Corvettes & decided I liked the C2s much better. There was a 1967 Coupe inside in the narrow area just off the showroom on the way to the service area , it was a Black with Red Stinger Coupe, I cant remember what big block it had but the car was beautiful. When I inquired about buying a Corvette and I had a trade in I felt as if I was a bother to be waited on and basically given the cold shoulder. So i left and when I got nearer my Satellite there was a guy checking it out . As I was talking to him he asked what I was selling it for and why he said he was very interested in buying it and that there was a Chevy dealer just up the road in Hawthorne N.J that sold a lot of Corvettes too. He took my phone number and he did buy my Plymouth a few days later. A couple of days after that I went down to Hawthorne Chevrolet and saw they had 4 or 5 1967 new Corvettes on their lot. The one that caught my eye immediately was this sweet looking Lyndale Blue Coupe, it was a 327-300 horsepower 4 speed with a black interior, a radio , tinted glass and not much else but it was going to be mine. I cant say why any of the others did not interest me, there were coupes, convertibles, big blocks, small blocks, different colors but that Lyndale Blue coupe caught my eye. I bought it and thought I was hot stuff being almost 20 years old and having a new Corvette. I wish I still owned that car. Out of the 9 Corvettes that I owned that was my favorite with the possible exception of my ’71 LT-1 Ontario Orange 2 top Roadster. Too bad I am not in a position to buy a 2020 ,
