Lance Miller to Sell Several Collectible Corvettes at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale Auction

Earlier this year, the first 2014 Corvette Stingray was auctioned off at the annual Barrett-Jackson auction.

Now comes word that three very special Corvettes from the very distant past – plus a rare collectible – will be on the block at Barrett-Jackson on Jan. 18, 2014 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The four Corvettes all come from the collection of Carlisle Events co-owner Lance Miller.

Corvette Auction Preview: Barrett-Jackson Hot August Nights

Barrett-Jackson’s 2013 tour rolls into Reno, NV this weekend for their first ever Hot August Nights auction. The event replaces their old Orange County auction from the previous few years. The diverse vehicle docket includes 34 Corvettes, all but one of which will be selling at no reserve. The three day event kicks off Thursday, August 8th and runs through Saturday, August 10th. NCRS National Judging Chairman to Step Down

The National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) announced recently that their National Judging Chairman will be stepping down from that post later this year. Roy Sinor will be staying with the organization, but moving into a newly created role.

Sinor has been the National Judging Chairman for the last 17 years. When he took the office Bill Clinton was President and the top TV shows at that time were ER, Friends, and Seinfeld.

One of the more useful features available on the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible is the operation of the new top. Designers completed remade the top and its operational process, allowing the opening and closing at speeds of up to 30 mph. Drivers also have the ability to operate the top hands free with the new key fob. On Friday at 6 pm EST, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible made its way to the center stage at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Palm Beach. Up for grabs was the right to buy the very first retail production Corvette Stingray Convertible when it becomes available later this year. In the front row sat Chevy dealer and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, who paid $1 million for first Stingray Coupe at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January.
