[VIDEO] Midyear Monday: Jeff Hayes Restomods and the Top Corvette Sale at Barrett-Jackson

Barrett-Jackson offered up a new video that not only shows off the top Corvette sale at last month’s Scottsdale auction, but they included a quick feature and interview of the builder, Jeff Hayes.

Jeff has done a number of restomods over the years, and they are so good that he’s become a brand unto himself. A Jeff Hayes restomod is always a one-of-a-kind creation and he says that each car takes about a year to build.

Jeff says to Barrett-Jackson, “I’ve tried to find things I can improve on but not change drastically to the point where I eliminated the original beauty, and so it kind of created a market for what I’ve been doing.”

Jeff built a true masterpiece with his 1967 Corvette Convertible that went through the Scottsdale auction, and it wound up to be the overall top Corvette seller, hammering for $700,000 ($770,000 with commissions). The color on the ’67 is called Dirty Martini Green and it features a contrasting Buttercream interior. Simply delicious!

The Sting Ray rides on an Art Morrison chassis and power is generated from a LS3 crate motor. As it’s a restomod, it features all the fun options like a power hood, air conditioning, and a Bluetooth radio. The overly large custom Schott wheels provides a modern stance but also offers the appearance of wearing vintage knock-offs.

Also featured in the video is the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray he built for the 2022 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. That restomod sold for $715,000.
