It’s been a little while since we’ve featured a gallery of Corvettes from the C1 era. Let’s proclaim this day as Straight Axle Saturday and enjoy these 36 random photos of 1953-62 Corvettes .
The ultimate experience for a Corvette enthusiast would have to be taking delivery of their new car at the National Corvette Museum.
Knowing how crazy we Corvette fans are about our favorite car, the NCM started the R8C museum delivery program in September 1995 where customers could order a Corvette from their dealer and then pick it up at the Museum, right across from the assembly plant in Bowling Green, Ky.
Well, needless to say, the program has been a smashing success. In fact, today the Museum celebrated quite a milestone – welcoming their 10,000th participant in the Museum delivery program!
If you’re in the Houston area and have done a couple of Corvette shows, you have probably seen Steve and Lou Ann Pond’s bright yellow 2007 C6 known as the “Tweety Bird” Corvette.
Like a lot of us, Steve has been fallen for the new C7. So with a new Corvette Stingray in the garage, the show car designer set about to transform the White and Red Corvette into a show car in its own right.
Attendees at next weekend’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Florida will have the chance to see one of the most well-known Corvettes of all time. Mid America Motorworks will be showing off their famous 1968 Rebel L88 racer during their 20th anniversary show. 2015 will mark the first time that The Rebel L88 has been displayed at Amelia Island.
You could be the next lucky person to get a performance upgrade courtesy of ACCEL Performance Group.
ACCEL has just started a new show called ACCEL IT, and the first vehicle chosen after a lengthy search by host Jenny Long turned out to be a very cool 1968 Corvette convertible from the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions and Hot August Nights cruise in Reno, Nevada.
IMSA has released the entry list for the 63rd running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring which will be run on Saturday, March 21st.
Corvette Racing will have both its C7.Rs running and will be competing against seven other entries in the GTLM class.

Let me ask you a question.
Did you eat a lot of ice cream with sprinkles when you were a little kid?
Well, now that you’re all grown up and wearing your big-boy britches, you’d better quit eating it because ice cream with sprinkles is just for kids.
If you follow the logic of some folks who apparently believe that a Corvette driver must be under 30 with jet black hair and a 30-inch waistline, then it makes just as much sense to ban anyone over the age of 12 from eating ice cream with sprinkles.
Since 1992, Mobil 1 motor oil has been the “factory-fill” brand of oil at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green. And if the factory is recommending the use of Mobil 1 oil, then that’s what you should use, right?
So when we heard about this rebate offer on Mobil 1 oil and knowing that many Corvette owners like to service their own rides, we thought it would be worth sharing the news and hopefully you can save a few bucks during the process.
