Thursdays have become a fun day for us because we are either talking about allocations sent to dealers, or the start of ordering and the latest constraints. Today begins another two-week order cycle for ordering a new Corvette as selected dealers received their “estimated shipments” which is GM-speak for how many cars can be ordered.

The dealers whom we spoke with this morning received allocations for the Stingray and Z06, but nothing new for the E-Ray, which is still “ramping up” production. Not all dealers received allocations, and in fact, the smaller dealers we spoke with or heard from didn’t get any numbers at all.

Last week’s constraint report showed nothing holding back the Z06, while the Q9I Gloss Black 20-spoke wheels and the 5ZU Painted High-Wings were the only items that Stingray buyers were having trouble with, as well as a rotating split between Z51 and non-Z51 cars. Regarding the wheels and painted, it appears to be some sort of production issue where the vendor must be dealing with something that’s holding them back. After all, both of those options can come in other finishes, so what’s the hold up for these specific ones?

Orders for this cycle can be placed starting on April 18th and closing on the 23rd.
