[VIDEO] Repost: 2025 Corvette ZR1 at the Nurburgring

With the huge news today that the new 2025 Corvette ZR1 was going to be revealed sometime this summer, we wanted to once again experience the sound and fury that we saw from the car when it was being tested last October at the Nurburgring.

This video from Stefan at CarSpyMedia gave us a great look at the upcoming Corvette supercar. It was the first time that we had seen the ZR1 without its heavy black camouflage and it also introduced a new large rear wing that was spied for the first time. Some of the cars there were also running with the Z06-style rear wing.

Another thing we learned is that the ZR1 is loud! So loud that after the first day of testing, the cars were flagged for violating the tracks noise limits and so the engineering team had to take time out of their testing schedule to attach the special tailpipe extensions which pointed the sound down towards the track. And speaking of the tailpipes, you will occasionally see some blue flames from the exhaust as the car makes its way around the track.

One other observation we made at the time, or I guess it was two observations is that all the cars we saw tested during this session at the Nurburgring were Coupes, and none were equipped with the lightweight carbon fiber wheels. Since then, we’ve seen the engineering team driving the new ZR1 in the States and there were both Coupes and Convertibles in the mix. GM is pretty good about wanting to test both model variants, so I found the lack of convertibles rather curious.

Look closely and you’ll see the two new vents on the sides and on top of the rear deck, not to mention the waterfall-style air extractor where the frunk was located.
