New Corvette TV Series Coming to SPEED in 2013

We received word last week about an exciting new show on SPEED set to air in early 2013. “Vette, a Corvette Series” will debut next January. The show, hosted by Drew Waters (Friday Night Lights) and Jeff Hammond (NASCAR) will focus on everything Corvette-related, both old and new. Chevrolet Wins 2012 Rolex Series Engine Manufacturers Championship

A dominating debut season for the Corvette Daytona Prototype came to a close Sunday with another win for the Corvette Racing team and the prestigious 2012 GRAND-AM Rolex Series Engine Manufacturers’ Championship for Chevrolet.

SunTrust Racing closed the season with a victory at Lime Rock Park, giving Corvette Daytona Prototype teams their eighth win out of the 13 races in 2012.

He recently pushed the two flagship Corvettes to their limits at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in Desert Center, California and came away impressed but at the same disappointed.

A torrential rain storm in Sullivan County New York last week sent a flash flood down Cattail Creek in the area known as Livingston Manor. In addition to taking out several bridges and causing residents to scramble for higher ground, the flood waters cut a new path under the garage of Ted Baer, sending his pristine 1991 Corvette down the creek.

Dispute over the 1960 Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette Heads to Court

The first hearing in a battle to determine who owns one of three 1960 Corvette race cars will be held today in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg, Pa.

Two of the classic race cars have already been restored and are estimated to be worth at least a million dollars each. But the No.1 Corvette, which was driven by Briggs Cunningham in the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans, had been missing for nearly 30 years.

When is a car more than just a car?

How about when it once belonged to the first man who walked on the moon?

That’s right, a 1967 Corvette once owned by Neil Armstrong – known for his “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” – is on its way back to being carefully restored, thanks to new owner Joe Crosby. Crosby has commissioned a team of experts, led by respected automobile preservation activist Eric Gill, to lead the project, which could take years because they want the job done right since its owner was such an important part of world history.

IIHS Study Reports Corvette Z06 and Convertible Rated Lowest in Property Damage Claims

No one likes having to pay high insurance bills, but the latest status report from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety offers some good news for Corvette drivers.

For the 2009-11 model years, the Z06 and the Corvette convertible were the lowest among all sports cars rated in the category for property damage (which insures against physical damage caused to other vehicles and property).
