If you’re looking to bling up the engine bay on your 2023 Corvette coupe, you might be thrilled to know that Chevy has just released a new option.
But be warned, it’ll cost you.
Now available at accessories.chevrolet.com is an Engine Cross Brace in Visible Carbon Fiber with Jake Logo – at a cost of $2,895. The official GM part number for the X-Brace is 84983921.
A photo on the website shows the actual product, and it does seem to add a little bit of pizazz (whether $2,895 worth is up to the individual owner) to what can be a rather bland, black plastic-dominated engine compartment especially if you don’t have a painted engine cover or the Engine Appearance Package and its carbon fiber closeout panels on either side of the LT2 engine.
According to Chevy, the new x-shaped cross brace was designed, engineered, and tested specifically for your Corvette.
Besides looking great, the brace also enhances chassis stiffness, increases lateral stiffness up to 3.40%, and contributes to a more direct steering reponse, Chevy added.
The brace features easy bolt-on installation and comes with the fasteners required and an installation sheet.
For you 2020-22 C8 coupe owners, however, there’s some bad news. Apparently, the brace is compatible only with 2023 Corvettes.
