Finally some good news for Z06 buyers!

Chevrolet has granted the fourth round of customer Z06 allocations to dealers on Thursday morning. We reached out to multiple dealers, both large and small, and got the good news from everyone we spoke with. Dealers will have until Friday night to get their customer orders into the order bank, and they can finalize those submitted orders before the Tuesday, April 4th deadline.

We had been nervous about customer allocations ever since GM skipped over the Z06 in February when they were originally planned for, as well as last week when we reported that no allocations were offered during the March Z06 order cycle. And because Chevy doesn’t tell their dealers squat, we were only left with speculation that March 30th was sort of a “do or die” moment for final customer allocations before the April 5th deadline.

Now we’ll be turning our attention to April to see what happens there. While there is a chance of another round of allocations for next month, Chevrolet has already said they would dealer stock orders only, which would protect Chevy from price protecting any roll-over orders into 2024 should further delays happen.

We’re also looking forward to the end of April for the NCM Bash as we are looking for any news or direction from the Corvette Team that outlines the end of the 2023 model year and the start of the 2024s.

As I was writing this post, I also got further good news as another production record for the Z06 was hit Wednesday this week with 40 total Z06s produced! That number included 33 regular Z06s and 70 Anniversary models.

The current production count we have is 1,151 Z06s and 176 70th Anniversary models for 1,327 total Z06s produced.

  1. Great update! Thanks. I think you mean 7 not 70 Anniversary models or someone hacked your post! Can’t wait until we get a call.

  2. It’s A TOTAL shift show for real enthusiasts and customers! A complete 101 Class in what NOT to do as a manufacturer unveiling a premium product…overselling and completely under delivering what was supposed to be a historic and ground breaking model in Corvette history!

From the beginning production hiccups, multiple delays, unavailable options throughout and the worst of all…the Stealership price hike “adjustments!” Each place bargaining with customers that had put down a deposit way before details were even given about it! Acting like they have the priceless Holy Grail touched by his truely…10K, 20k, 25k, 50k…100k over for that 1lz trimmed coupe screwing them over! To say this production run so far has been a chaotic nightmare is an understatement!

  3. What on earth are you oeopke saying?
The cars are in great demand. GM didn’t mishandle anything. I was at the plant a few weeks ago. There were two shifts producing Corvettes. No third shift because they can’t fill the staffing. Accept the fact that this is an amazing car. I iwn a 2023 LT1. Its build is outstanding and it thrilling to drive.

  4. I really wondered what the real truth is. I am first on my dealers list. My dealer is awesome and very upfront. This will be there second allocation. Again no Z07 package! So my allocation gets passed to the next person. I have heard the carbon fiber ground effects is the problem. Not sure what to believe. I do believe GM should take care of those that get bypassed due to this. I have been on the list since late 2018, when the camoed commodore/elcomino was just spotted. I sold my then Z06 R thinking 2021 for a Z06 mid mid engine. Maybe soon!

  5. I’m with you TonyC8…..i walk by Lexus and BMWs to get in my 20 C8 w 34k, the C8 is the Best car I have owned

  6. I received my dealer’s allocation last Friday (their first), and received an order number and confirmation email from Chevrolet this morning stating “Your order has been accepted for production”. No idea of the TPW (target production week) yet. As others have reported, the Z07 package, and exterior carbon package was unavailable when I placed my order. Here’s to hoping I get the car prior to Father’s Day (2.5 months from now)!
