The owner of an orange C8 Corvette is facing charges after allegedly intentionally striking a man with his mid-engine Stingray this week in South Beach, Florida.
According to a witness who talked anonymously to 7 News Miami reporter Sheldon Fox, the incident started when a man walking his dogs apparently became angry with the Corvette driver for running a red light and the two men subsequently engaged in a scuffle on the sidewalk.
“These two guys engage in a fight,” said the witness, who used his phone to capture the fight on video. “The guy gets out of the car, threatening him, and the guy with the dog reacts, he punched him a couple of times and gives him a knee. The dogs tried to attack him. He pulled the dogs out.”
The Corvette driver – 29-year-old Keanen Roberts, who can be seen in the video wearing dark red hospital scrubs – then walked off, climbed into his Corvette, and made a U-turn on the sidewalk.
“It was over so that’s when I stopped recording and apparently, the guy went back to his car and that’s when I think the insanity started,” the witness said.
An off-duty police sergeant picks it up from there, however.
“Took his brand new corvette, like full speed, he wanted to run over the guy,” the police officer said. “I’ve never seen something like this. It was a purposely done action just to hurt him, to kill him. He went out of his mind.”
The victim suffered severe leg injuries and was transported to Jackson Ryder Trauma, according to fire rescue, who reported the man’s dogs were not hurt.
Roberts, who now faces a court date in May, claims the man walking his dogs first kicked his Corvette.

I saw Florida Man’s picture. This punk is a total dikk who is a disgrace to all of us Corvette owners and enthusiasts. He needs to stay locked up in jail to keep him from attempting to kill somebody else. I feel really sorry for what happened to the guy who gave him the ass whoppin’ that he deserved. I can relate to him because I accidently got hit by a car one time and suffered a severe injury to my right leg.
I guess this is a case of: “If you don’t like the way I drive, then stay off the sidewalk”.
