In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Callaway Cars has announced that the famous RPO B2K option package will return to a limited number 2012 Corvettes. The popular option package first appeared in 1987 and, when selected, force-fed the stock Corvette L98 through a pair of intercooled turbos. Since that time, the Callaway Twin-Turbo Corvettes have grown in popularity amongst enthusiasts and collectors.
Motor Trend’s newest web show is called “Head2Head” and its all about comparisions of two similar cars. In the premiere episode, MT editor Angus Mackenzie compares the 2012 Corvette Grand Sport to the all new 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S. While it’s obvious from the beginning that Mackenzie has a favorite (and it’s not the Corvette), the “Head2Head” video still features some great eye candy as well as a hefty dose of the Corvette’s mighty 436-hp V8.
We’d all like to combine the styling cues of an iconic Corvette with the underpinnings of a modern C6.
Not many of us have the skills or money to perform such a transformation, however.
But thanks to the popular SPEED Channel show, Chop Cut Rebuild, and Corvette Specialty of California, we can all witness a C6 change into a Grand Sport tribute over the course of several episodes. And it won’t cost us a dime.
Fresh off its appearance at Barrett-Jackson, where VIN #001 raised $700,000 for charity, the 2013 427 Convertible featuring the 60th Anniversary Package is now on display at the Chicago Auto Show. Although absent in Scottsdale, the new two-toned striped convertible top is now on the car and thanks to our friends at Kerbeck Corvette, we can share the first photos of the newest ragtop Corvette from the Windy City.
Our friends at Jalopnik bring us the unfortunate story of a crash at this past weekend’s Cars and Coffee gathering in Dallas. While most crashes at these events are usually the caused by hooning gone bad, in this case, an unknown medical condition caused a woman to crash into these two Corvettes with her Camaro SS.
We’ve got February 14th circled on our calendar and no, its not because it’s Valentines Day. This February 14th marks the return of a whole new season of Top Gear USA and if the third season is as good as this teaser video, then we’re in for one heck of a ride!
Driving in ice and snow is an experience most drivers would just as soon forego.
But, for British journalist Chris Knapman, the experience was “technically challenging” and “at times, just plain scary,” as he recently maneuvered a Corvette Z06 around an ice track at the Laponie Ice Driving school in Sweden, just 50 miles from the Arctic Circle.
And to think, some of us Corvette drivers won’t even let our cars get wet in a rain shower!
New York Giants Quarterback Eli Manning was named the Super Bowl XLVI MVP after defeating the New England Patriots 21-17 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. For his efforts, Eli was given the key fob to a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Centennial Edition Convertible during the post game festivities.
Friday started out just like any other day, taking my 12-year-old son to middle school. Since he enjoys riding in our 2005 Corvette convertible, I decided to make the trip interesting for him (and me, too) and forego the usual 1999 Suburban that offers us a thrill ride of a different kind.
After dropping Christopher off at school, I decided to stop by the local Walmart and pick up a few groceries. My list didn’t look that long, and I had had the foresight to make sure that the Corvette trunk was empty just in case the list ran a little over.
Chevrolet returns to the Super Bowl in a big way by offering fans the opportunity to win prizes including one of 20 vehicles with their Super Bowl App contest.
