This C5 Corvette racer with a solid axle from Moser Engineering nearly stands on its rear bumper when the light turns green. The driver powers through 60′ or so of track on just two wheels. Amazingly, the car stays under control as it drops back to four wheels and heads down the track.
The newest addition to the C5 Corvette lineup over at Bayou Boyz racing is being tested. This will be the 3rd C5 to join the team proving how competitive this package has become.

The Major League Baseball trade deadline was last week.
Larry Potter doesn’t have to worry about deadlines like that.
You see, back in 2004, he made the trade of a lifetime – gaining the keys to a friend’s beautiful 1966 Corvette roadster if Larry would just buy a new 2004 Corvette and throw the keys to his friend.
Once a year in Idaho, the Sun Valley Road Rally transforms Highway 75 north of Ketchum into a “No Speed Limit” zone where drivers can run as fast as they want past throngs of spectators cheering them on. The event, now in its 5th year, raises money for the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition.
One of the videos we caught of the event featured a C5 Corvette that hit a top speed of 166 mph on the two lane road.
But that’s not all. Driving the yellow Corvette, according to the PA announcer, was an 81 year old grandmother.
We’ve apparently learned the fate of at least one of the eight Corvettes swallowed up by the sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum in February.
The museum has announced that the 2009 Blue Devil ZR1 prototype – the property of General Motors and among the least damaged by the sinkhole – will be heading back to GM for restoration after the NCM’s upcoming 20th anniversary celebration on Labor Day weekend. No one has said where the Blue Devil will be displayed after repairs are made.
Over the last six decades, Chevrolet has produced seven different iterations of the Corvette. Some of the designs have been called revolutionary like the C2 years while others have more or less evolved from the previous generation like C5 to C6.
eBay Motors found a cool way to illustrate the design changes the Corvette has undergone over the last 60 years by showing an animation that morphs from the C1′s 1953 Corvette all the way through to the C7 2014 Corvette Stingray.
That tremor you felt in the force last week as millions of people suddenly cried out and then were silenced wasn’t the result of some interplanetary conflict. No, that collective gasp heard online was the unveiling of a new Hot Wheel’s Darth Vader show car at San Diego’s Comic-Con convention.
The Darth Vader car is the first in a new series of Star Wars character cars from Hot Wheels available this October.
The good news is police found a red 2003 Corvette that was stolen in Moses Lake, Washington last Thursday morning.
The bad news is by that time, the alleged thief had crashed the car through a fence and into the back yard of a house in the 8800 block of Hillcrest Drive in Moses Lake.
Last weekend we made a run down to CORSA Performance’s corporate headquarters in Berea, Ohio to take in their 12th annual Corvettes at CORSA show. Rain threatened, but never materialized which made for a dry, yet hot and muggy Midwestern summer day for roughly 250 Corvette owners. Read on to see more from this year’s show.
It’s the last Friday in July which means its “Black Friday” here at CorvetteBlogger.com. Here’s our salute to Black Corvettes with a random photo gallery made up of 30 Corvettes spanning seven generations.
