The 2-day indoor show in Chicago attracted hundreds of the country’s finest Corvettes, muscle cars, and customs. Mecum Auctions takes their quest to sell every car ever produced west this weekend for their inaugural Anaheim, California event. Around 70 Corvettes are up for adoption this Thursday through Saturday as part of the 800 car docket. You can watch 18 hours of live coverage of the event on Velocity.
This highly documented, unrestored 1969 L88 convertible will be offered at Mecum Auctions’ Anaheim, California event this weekend. The LeMans Blue roadster is widely considered to be one of the most highly optioned and best documented L88’s known to exist. It is scheduled to cross the auction block about 1:20pm Pacific time this Saturday, November 17th.
In the late 1970′s the 3rd generation Corvette was languishing thanks to an aging platform and new government emissions and fuel economy requirements. Eager gearheads would do just about anything to make their ride stand out from the crowd. Enter customizer Les Dunham and the Corvette Caballista. His Dunham Coach Motor Car Company built just 50 Caballistas between 1977 and 1982. The example seen here is a later model based on 1982 Collector Edition Corvette.
