Hopefully by now you’ve made your travel plans to attend the 41st annual Corvettes at Carlisle car show. The annual gathering takes place at the Carlisle Fairgrounds August 24-26th and there is so much to see and do over those three days.
As we begin to move through August, the eyes of the automotive world head west to California and Monterey Week. Likewise, our friends at Mecum Auctions will be there once again hosting their Daytime Monterey Auction at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on the Del Monte Golf Course. Mecum’s 3-day sale is the only auction of the week that takes place during the day.
When the first 300 Corvettes were built for 1953, you could buy them in any color you liked as long as it was Polo White.

Every year at Corvettes at Carlisle, the Chip’s Choice display is a must-see themed exhibit that always has special cars to share with attendees, and you can always count on a surprise or two showing up for the display. With this year being the 100th Anniversary of the first 24 Hours of Le Mans, organizers of Corvettes at Carlisle have put together a special collection for Chip’s Choice featuring Corvettes that have competed in or were prepped for the famous 24-hour race.

I clicked the link to watch this Torch Red C8 Corvette Stingray get in some drag racing action at the Las Vegas speedway and it wasn’t until I was three or four minutes into it did my mind connect with the video’s title that these quarter mile battles almost exclusively featured a domestic auto racing against an import.
Yesterday we got word that Chevrolet sent a memo out to dealers and the big news we ran with was that the 2024 Corvette E-Ray’s start of regular production (SORB) was set for October 23, 2023. We finally got the rest of the memo that has some additional dates for 2023/2024 production as well as the latest constraints for next week’s order cycle.
