Here's the August Constraints for the 2024 Corvette Stingray and Z06

Yesterday we got word that Chevrolet sent a memo out to dealers and the big news we ran with was that the 2024 Corvette E-Ray’s start of regular production (SORB) was set for October 23, 2023. We finally got the rest of the memo that has some additional dates for 2023/2024 production as well as the latest constraints for next week’s order cycle.

First up, Chevrolet has said that all remaining orders for the 2023 model year have been scheduled for production. We’ve been watching the production counts over the last week and we’ve seen some great output in these recent days. On Wednesday, the assembly plant produced 216 total cars, while on Tuesday they totaled 214 new Corvettes. Both of those days showed 55 Z06s produced. We’re still watching to see what the final quantities will be for this record-breaking year of production.

The dealer memo also says that the 2024 Corvette model year start of production for the Stingray and Z06 was moved up one day and it’s now Monday, September 11th. As we previously mentioned, the E-Ray will start the week of October 23rd.

Chevrolet has divided each of the models into three separate allocation groups for Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray. So when allocations are given to dealers, they will receive three specific counts, one for each model. Unfortunately, dealers can’t mix or match allocations groups, meaning if your dealer is granted 10 cars for Stingray, you can only order 10 Stingrays.

It also sounds like Chevrolet may be moving back to one order cycle per month, with all three models combined into that one order cycle. I still think we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out once the E-Ray joins the fray.

Chevrolet also provided constraints for the next order cycle. Reminder, if you order was already accepted during a previous order cycle, you are good. These constraints only affect new orders being placed next week. For this report, we only have percentages, and not the raw numbers. Those will supposedly come next week.

Finally, Chevrolet also gave the latest details for the Z06 and E-Ray Vehicle Retention Program. We broke this news last month, and as we stated, Chevrolet’s carrot/stick approach for the Z06 which rewarded owners for keeping their vehicles for six months with 500,000 My Chevy Rewards points valued at $5000 would be going away in 2024. Now the 2024 Z06 and the E-Ray are both subject to the six month no-flip policy, and if an owner does flip it within 6 months, that new buyers loses the warranty. Chevrolet stated that for E-Ray, the battery warranty of 8-years/100,000 miles would not be voided if the car was sold earlier than the 6 months.

So that’s all the news that’s fit for print. You can see the individual pages from the memo below:

  1. Hope GM hops on board with solid state batteries that don’t blow up. Toyota/Lexus will be setting the bar next year with this new technology. I believe Nissan is doing the same.

  2. Okay,we can’t sell our cars before 6 months to make an exorbitant profit but the Chevy dealers can sell the cars for $50-1000k over sticker!!How about some restraint on these crooked dealers 🤬
