The Michelin NCM Bash is scheduled for April 25-27 at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s one of our favorite shows of the year as we get to see old friends and new friends alike, as well as hear about all the great new changes coming for the upcoming 2025 model year Corvettes.

When the C8 Corvette Z06 first started hitting the streets and looking for competition, the place to go was the local drag strip, despite the fact that the car was really designed for being a track weapon. Even Corvette’s Executive Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter was a little surprised with all the drag racing that was going on and he commented on it once, saying the car wasn’t really designed to be a “numbers” car.

It was the first mass-produced car with a titanium exhaust system like the legendary McLaren F1. It was the first American car to feature a major body panel composed of carbon fiber, the first domestic to offer Enzo-spec carbon ceramic brakes, and, along with its tire partner, Michelin, it was the originator of the factory semi-slick rubber option.
