Back in early September we received the inevitable news that the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show had been canceled for this year. Since this is one of our absolute favorite car shows, we had been holding out hope that the show could go on for 2020. Nevertheless, with Coronavirus cases still surging, there’s just no way to safely hold a massive indoor car show.

When designers and engineers were creating the mid-engine Corvette Stingray Coupe, they made sure to emphasize the beauty of the LT2 V8 engine that resides under glass for the world to see. Chevrolet described the C8’s focal point during the official launch of the car as the “jewel in a showcase, visible through the large rear hatch window,” and owners can choose between three different colors of engine covers to customize the look of the engine bay.

The new mid-engine Corvette is definitely stirring the creative juices of the aftermarket crowd, and the world’s first Pandem widebody kit has already been installed for owner Alex Lawn by LT Motor Werks out of California.

For many enthusiasts of a certain age out there, including this writer, the C3 Corvette is “our Corvette” since it was the generation of our youth. (We envy the kids now who can someday claim the C8 was the generation of their youth!)
Which brings us to a current barn find on sale on eBay through Sunday night. So far, 11 bids have climbed as high as $4,850 for this very early 1968 convertible with a cool back story.

One of the new C8 Corvette models that we are pretty excited about is the RHD-version that will be exported to those countries who drive on the right side of the road. Why are we excited? It’s the first time that Corvettes have been built with RHD configuration straight from the factory.
