We caught these two videos shared late afternoon on Thursday that were tweeted from our friends at Corvette Racing. At first, we were thinking this was related to Jordan’s failure at picking Airbnb rentals which he documented a couple weeks ago because Chevrolet said “No rental cars this weekend for Jordan and Antonio.” But it turns out that Chevy has something way cooler for the guys to drive for the IMSA race weekend at Road America.
We’re all still somewhat reeling from the long-awaited C8 Z06 price announcement. The 2023 Z is very special, and, unfortunately, GM knows it. It has priced its new halo model 34.7% higher than its predecessor and a shocking 65.7% higher than the 2023 Stingray, which looks like more of a deal now than ever. Like a lot of people out there, this new reality has made even fantasy owners like this humble blogger second-guess their hypothetical orders. As it turns out, the majority of us here at CorvetteBlogger unknowingly signed up for $150,000+ builds when the still embarrassingly-buggy Z06 visualizer went live. After much reflection, here is the new, more wallet-friendly Sommers-spec Z06:

Ever since the first official photo of the 2023 Corvette Z06 was revealed, there have been those who have wanted to spec their Z06s with a body-color exterior trim instead of the usual Carbon Flash Metallic. That’s because many didn’t like the look of the Z06’s side intake trim which some have dubbed the “wishbone” or “spear” based on its shape.

When toy maker Mattel decided to create their line of Hot Wheels cars to compete with England’s Matchbox brand, management went out and recruited several real-life car designers including Ira Gifford, a former car designer for General Motors and Chrysler. Ira would end up creating some of the most memorable Hot Wheels cars from my youth including “Splittin’ Image“, “Torero“, “Turbofire“, and the “Twin Mill” Corvette.
Our friends at Ciocca Corvette of Atlantic City received their first shipment of 35th Anniversary Callaway C8 Corvettes and one of them is available for sale!
The gentleman who is selling this 1967 restomod Corvette convertible says his father built his dream car as he waged a battle with cancer.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to the disease, and now the son is helping his mother settle the estate through an auction on Hemmings.com through Aug. 11, with a high bid of $35,000 so far.
