Agenda Set for the 2022 Corvettes on Woodward Events
The annual Corvette bender known as Corvettes on Woodward takes place next week all around the metro Detroit area. Each year the event draws hundreds of Corvette owners from all over the Midwest (and further) for a multi-day play date with like-minded enthusiasts while doing some good for the neighborhood. Corvettes on Woodward is like Spring Training before the world-famous Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 20th.
A Recent Chevy Dealers Memo Erroneously Says 55,573 C8 Corvette Orders are Currently In-System
Changing to a mid-engine format for the C8 Corvette was supposedly a gamble for General Motors. And yet that gamble turned out to be a success as the Corvette Stingray is still one of the most sought-after new vehicles on the market even as we are into its fourth model year. On top of that demand, we have the new 2023 Z06 ready to begin production next month, with dealers submitting preliminary orders since July 27th.

The Grand Prize
One lucky winner will get the keys to one of the 199 Shark Gray Z06 Convertibles stamped in the C7Z’s inaugural model year. Highlights of this mint condition drop-top include the 2LZ equipment group, ebony interior, the fast-shifting 8-speed automatic, the must-have level 2 Aero Package, Magnetic Ride Control, and, of course, the legendary Supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8, which brings a staggering 650 horsepower and an equal helping of torque to the table. It has covered 11,142 miles in the past eight years (under 1,400 per year) and carries an estimated value of $85,000.
The seventh generation was the first modern Z06 with a stiff enough structure to offer a roadster body style from the factory. The weight penalty was a scant 55 pounds over the conventional Targa-top coupe, and removing the track-ready Z’s top didn’t diminish performance. The 8-speed 2015 Z06 ‘Vert was clocked at 3.1 seconds to 60 mph; it will hit triple digits in just 7.1 ticks. The quarter mile is dispatched in just 11.3 seconds, at which point this ultimate hair dryer is doing 126 mph, and if a driver keeps their foot in it for 18.2 seconds, they’ll cross 150!

[SPIED] GM Testing the Ferrari SF90 Stradale Performance Hybrid at Milford with Eyes Towards the E-Ray and Zora
When it comes to Chevy’s new mid-engine sports car and all the variants planned thus far, it’s no surprise that GM has looked to Maranello, Italy, for inspiration. We’ve previously heard how the Z06’s LT6 engine was directly influenced by the Ferrari 458 and Chevrolet has also had the 458 on the road with engineers as they benchmarked the Ferrari’s sound and fury against the new American sports car.
