[VIDEO] The L88 Corvettes of the 2026 Amelia Island Concours

The 31st Annual Ameila Island Concours took place last weekend in sunny northeast Florida. The 4-day event is a high-end celebration of the automotive lifestyle and all things related to it. Saturday’s Concours event anchors the weekend and receives support from a Broad Arrow auction, a motoring tour, a Radwood gathering, and more.

The concours features a different group of classes each year ranging from Brass Era classics, to elegant prewar masterpieces all the way up to modern hyper cars. For 2026, a class of factory L88 Corvettes was included in the mix.

Our friend Kevin Mackay helped assemble the 10-car display which was set up near the center of the show field next to the picturesque pond. The L88 class covered all 3 years of production from 1967 to 1969. Overall, it was a great mix of factory stock cars mixed with their racing siblings. The famous cutaway 1965 and 1969 L88’s gave onlookers an intimate view of these rear Corvettes.

• 1966 #14 L88 Development Racer
• 1967 Dana and Harry Mann #92 L88 Racer
• 1968 #12 Band-Aid L88 Racer
• 1969 See-Through L88 Corvette
• 1969 DeLorenzo L88 Convertible
• 1969 Black L88 Coupe
• 1969 Greenwood Stars and Stripes #49 L88 Racer
• 1967 #9 LeMans Racer
• 1967 #89 Cliff Gottlob Racer

In addition to the cars above, Kevin Mackay and owner Irwin Kroiz showed off a brand new functional L88 engine display. The working engine sits on a clever mobile stand that’s painted to match the #49 Greenwood Stars and Stripes Corvette’s iconic livery. The entire show stopped in its tracks early Saturday morning when they fired up that ground pounding L88. You can see that towards the end of the video below.

The L88 Corvettes were in competition once again, but this time it was on the bright green fairways of Amelia Island. When judging had completed, it was the 1967 Gottlob racer taking Best in Class over the 1968 Band-Aid racer and the famous 1969 Greenwood Stars and Stripes car.
