[VIDEO] Blade Silver 2026 Corvette ZR1 Transformed with XPEL Stealth PPF

It was just last week that we shared the delivery video of YouTuber Brooks from the DragTimes Channel picking up his new ZR1 Coupe from Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City. Duriang his delivery, he mentioned that the car would be headed to the shop for a full installation paint protection film, and now we can check it out now that it’s finished.

Brooks took the car down to Blackout Tinting in South Florida near Fort Lauderdale which coincidently is owned by Justin from HorsePower Obsessed and that’s whose bringing us this video today.

Justin explains that the 2026 Corvette ZR1 will be getting the XPEL’s Stealth PPF wrap which not only will protect the car, but the properties of the Stealth PPF transforms the Blade Silver Metallic paint into a Blade Silver Matte, which coincidently is the exclusive finish for the upcoming 2026 ZR1X Quail Silver Edition Convertibles. By utilizing XPEL’s Stealth PPF, Brooks’ Matte Blade Silver ZR1 beats the ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition to the punch!

During the XPEL installation, we see how the technician deals with those design elements like the huge rear wing and the top rear air intakes which are unique to the ZR1. Both were removed from the car so that the PPF would have the flattest surface to bond two, while the air ducts and wing were wrapped separately with gloss PPF and then reinstalled.

We do get a good look at seeing half the car wrapped while the other half was still showing the Blade Silver Metallic and it was a great way to show off matte properties from the Stealth PPF. The stealth PPF dramatically changed the appearance of the Blade Silver paint, giving it a unique matte finish that diffuses light and reduces glare. The 50/50 comparison shots clearly showed the difference, with the stealth side exhibiting a frosted, ice-like look.

The carbon fiber parts retained their shine under the invisible gloss PPF, while the stealth film on the silver paint provided a striking contrast.

With Brooks planning on taking the car to the drag strip, the Stealth PPF should offer great protection against scratches, rock chips, and burning rubber during its real-world excursions. Check out the installation video below because I see more Matte Blade Silver finishes coming that has nothing do with the ZR1X.

  1. That’s just lovely how this high dollar ZR1 left the factory with a misaligned side scoop and a loose ground wire. Wonder what else could be wrong with it?
