New Milestone for 2026 Corvette ZR1 Production Reached

Just thought I would drop this quick update on the production stats of the 2026 Corvette ZR1s. For those who were doubting that Chevrolet couldn’t produce the car in quantity, we are glad to see you are being proved wrong.

The latest numbers from Roger Kiel’s C8 Production Tracker shows the mighty ZR1 has just surpassed 500 units built for the 2026 model year. As we are about a quarter of the way into the model year, we could potentially be looking at around 2,000+ produced for this model year if the production numbers stay the same.

During the 2025 ZR1 production ramp up, we were marveling when we would see more than two produced per day. Now we are seeing upwards of 18 produced daily and the plant has done that twice within the last week. The actual count through Tuesday was 505 ZR1s produced on Roger’s report, and they just keep coming…

The only trouble we’ve seen so far is that the Alcon J59 brakes are not available yet, which means that buyers can’t go full race car with the ZTK performance Package. (Is Chevy saving them for ZR1X?) But at least the aero package is available which is what most of those buyers are looking for anyways. The other constraint impacting all 2026s including the ZR1 has been the new Electrochromic Roofs.

We also jumped over to the C8Tracker.com website and they are showing 465 units with window stickers. From those window stickers, the website is showing the take rate of the Carbon Fiber Aero at 78.3% versus 21.7% of buyers who went with the standard aero package. Another crazy stat is just 1.7% of buyers are opting for the 1LZ build as a whopping 98.3% are going 3LZ.

The top three colors for the 2026 ZR1s are Black at 137 (29.5%), Arctic White at 70 (15.1%), and Competition Yellow has 52 (11.2%). The rarest color for the ZR1 is currently Hysteria Purple with just 22 built and 4.7% of production. The new Roswell Green is coming in at 27 builds and 5.8% of production.

Hey Keith,

This is the first time I’ve seen your blog and it’s very informative. I’m not sure if you’ll see my reply, but if so, please let know if you have any details on ZR1 orders including the ZTK package that were accepted in early September. My order went to a status of 3000 on September 2nd, including the ZTK option, but I’ve not received any additional updates.

Hi Vic and thanks for coming over! Most ZR1 orders placed are immediately bumped to 3000, and then it’s the waiting game. You will probably get updated when your order hits 3300 for Sequencing for Production and then 3400 is when you get your VIN. Production usually follows within days. – Keith

Good to hear that production has ramped up. I see that black is leading the pack which is not my style… One thing that bothers me is that for HTCs, the roof and nacelles behind the passengers are blacked out. That makes color combinations other than black difficult. Perhaps that’s “modern” or “distinctive” ZR1 styling, but that should be optional like it was for my 2024 Stingray HTC (an option I rejected). I cringe whenever I use the ZR1 configurator because no matter what color I select outside of black, that discontinuity just doesn’t work for me. That shouldn’t be the feeling a new car buyer should get … They need to make that styling feature “optional” again. Since the waiting lines are a couple of years long for ZR1 and ZR1X, Chevy still has time to fix this before I get mine.
