Two of my favorite cars ever sported silver exteriors with blue interiors – a 1981 Corvette and a 1979 Cutlass Supreme Brougham.
But this 1972 Corvette T-top coupe takes the silver/blue combo to a higher level with its rare Pewter Silver paint over blue vinyl upholstery, at least in our humble opinion. In fact, Pewter Silver was the rarest color at 1,372 built, compared to the most popular shade of Ontario Orange at 4,891.
Apparently, other folks feel the same way as this vintage C3 Stingray has already soared to $30,750 on a Bring a Trailer auction that still has five days to run.
But the beautiful and unusual color combo is far from the only feature to appreciate on this Corvette.
Under the hood is an LS5 454 V8 engine, and though the 270 horses might seem a little low based on current numbers, this car should still have plenty of pep thanks to its 395 lb-ft of torque. The big-block LS5 – a $294.90 option – was the pick of 3,913 of the 27,004 customers that year, with the other choices being the 350/200 and the 350/255 LT1 (with 1,741 ordered at a cost of $483.45).
Some might argue against the presence of a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission instead of a four-speed manual, but others who have trouble shifting gears might be appreciative.
Other features on this car include 15-inch Rally wheels, power disc brakes, power steering, tilt steering column, air conditioning, power windows, and AM/FM stereo.

A really striking 72 and appears to be in great condition,a keeper for sure. Had a orange 72 with the saddle interior. Actually like this combo better.
