Chevrolet is getting ready to pace the Indianapolis 500 this Sunday with the 2026 Corvette ZR1X leading the field to the Green Flag. That car features a unique two-sided paint job with one side the car painted in Admiral Blue and the other half being Arctic White with a special version of the Stars & Steel limited edition graphics. You can see more pics of the official pace car from its reveal on April 30th.

On Tuesday, Chevrolet shared a new video featuring a 2026 Corvette ZR1X wearing the Stars & Steel graphics on its social media channels. The post’s description reads, “Some candles don’t get blown out quietly. The countdown to America’s 250th Birthday starts this weekend at Indy.”

The video shows a candle being lit, and then the start-up of the ZR1X’s mighty 5.5-liter twin turbo V8 blows it out. The screen shows, “This year we celebrate America’s 250th…with 1,250 horsepower.”

Chevrolet created the Stars & Steel Limited Edition Collection to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary and it was offered on all model of Corvettes, as well as Silverado and Colorado models. Chevrolet built 250 of these limited edition cars and only 25 were offered on the ZR1X.

Are you planning on watching the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday? I try to never miss it and looking forward to seeing the Pace Car as it leads the 33 IndyCar racers to the start of the race.
