As they head into the 24 Hours of Le Mans later this month, TF Sport is hoping to rebound from a disappointing finish at Spa though the team still remains in the points lead anyway in the LMGT3 championship battle.

Jonny Edgar, who will be making his Le Mans debut, says he just wants to see “more of the same” in France from his team that also includes Daniel Juncadella and Ben Keating behind the wheel of their No. 33 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

“The car set-up has been good every time and none of us have really made mistakes,” Edgar said in an interview with Sportscar 365. “We just need more of the same [at Le Mans] and aim to maximize the result. Whether that’s enough to win or it’s only enough for P5, that’s always the aim.”

Of course, a win is always the ultimate goal, especially at Le Mans where the victor earns double points for the FIA World Endurance Championship season.

“We all want to win Le Mans, but if the win is out of the question, we’d switch our focus to the championship,” he said. “I don’t think we’d take too much risk if it was the difference between P4 and P5. But for a win, you have to go for it.”

Edgar is confident the team can rebound from its poor showing at Spa when it takes the track at Le Mans, saying: “Ben has had a lot of success there, and Dani is fast everywhere. It’s a new track for me to learn, but I am sure it will be ok, with the test day to get up to speed. We just have to hope we are a bit closer on pace.”

He maintains that the No. 33 Corvette has been the car with the least penalties and errors so far this season and is “very happy” after the first three races.

“Apart from one penalty in Qatar I think we have been pretty much perfect,” Edgar says, “and we have got the maximum possible result every time, even at Spa.”
