The driver of this high-winged black C8 Corvette is in trouble with the law in Ohio after being clocked driving 36 mph over the limit Monday.

The incident happened on I-70 in Preble County, Ohio.

A photo on social media shows the trooper talking to the driver through the passenger window, with the radar in the foreground showing the Corvette’s speed recorded at 106 mph in a stretch where the limit was only 70.

“Remember to #SlowDown and always travel the speed limit,” OSHP posted.

  1. Investing in a $400+ radar/laser detector could save you thousands, in term of increased insurance premiums, attorney costs, speeding violation fees, impounded and/or towing fees, and finally, possible jail time? (Please check your State laws).

PS Just upgraded my mid-level Uniden DFR8-radar/laser to a new premium extreme long-range Uniden R7-radar/laser detector.
“Stay safe and don’t get caught!”

    Thanks,

  2. From the looks of the video it shows open country without even any fences along the roadway which allows for bar ditch escapes if necessary (Defensive Driving) & light traffic so this officer must have been having a bad day at work from outside reasons or peer pressure to be all that concerned with a 106 mph C8 Corvette on a 4 lane divided Interstate. He probably wasn’t taching above 2400 and even with just regular brakes could have been back below 70 mph in 3 seconds or less.

Then again it could have just been staged because of the video of the stop & their “Remember to #SlowDown and always travel the speed limit,” OSHP posted.

  3. Driver was lucky. In many states, triple digits on public roads is an immediate one-way trip to jail for the night, with vehicle impoundment, and even sometimes forfeiture.
