Mid-engine Corvettes are pretty eye-catching on their own.

Add in the fact that such a C8 Corvette Stingray was spotted speeding at 150 mph by an unmarked Border Patrol vehicle in California, and you have all the ingredients for a traffic stop.

Unfortunately, the driver of this Corvette refused to pull over, possibly because he knew the car had been reported stolen. He did slow down to “just” 100 mph at one point but still kept going, according to authorities.

“Agents deployed a vehicle mobilization device and punctured the two front tires of the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle slowed down to 100 miles per hour and continued to drive recklessly, running several red lights in his attempt to avoid capture,” explains Agent Mitzy Hernandez with the U.S Border Patrol agents from El Centro.

The suspect, who’s from the United States, led agents from El Centro in Imperial County, California on a high-speed chase as he headed towards Mexico.

He eventually did make it across the border in the Arctic White over Adrenaline Red Stingray but wound up being arrested there anyway.

He faces three felonies, including receiving stolen property and unlawful driving, and remains in Mexico awaiting extradition to the U.S.
