We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. If you want to race in your Corvette, take it to the track.

Three Georgia men didn’t heed that advice, and now they’ve lost the use of their C8 Corvette and two Dodge Challengers for 30 days after they were caught street racing by Florida Highway Patrol troopers early Saturday morning.

Troopers made the arrests of the three men after witnessing the mid-engine Corvette speeding westbound at 97 mph on Interstate 4 about 12:45 a.m.

Not long after, two Dodge Challengers were seen with the Corvette. They slowed briefly to 80 mph around Mile Marker 22, but then accelerated to speeds more than 120 mph.

Not only that, though, they were seen by troopers maneuvering aggressively through traffic, making multiple lane changes, and even using the shoulder to pass other vehicles.

Law enforcement eventually stopped all three cars, and in according with Florida law, the vehicles are impounded for 30 days.

The drivers – ages 39, 37, and 34 – also face charges of racing on highways.

  1. 30 days is just the beginning. When they get them back they will likely lose their license and pay hefty fines, and not be able to afford the insurance on them anymore when they get it back.
