New orders for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in Australia will include a price hike of nearly $5,000, according to an announcement by General Motors Australia.
Prices for the 2025 Stingray 2LT and 3LT models will rise $4,990 except for existing buyers already in the pipeline.
That means the cost of the right-hand drive models will be $186,990 for a 2LT coupe, $201,990 for a 3LT coupe, $204,490 for a 2LT convertible, and $219,490 for a 3LT convertible – not including on-road costs.
Prices for the E-Ray coupe and Z06 coupe will remain the same, at $275,000 and $336,000, respectively.
Drive reports that a GM Australia spokesperson blames the increases on foreign exchange rate changes and other cost increases.
“Due to ongoing foreign exchange rate volatility and cost increases, we have needed to review our pricing,” the spokesperson said.
The Corvette isn’t the only GM vehicle affected by the price hikes, with the Cadillac Lyriq up $5,000, the Chevrolet Silverado up $3,500, and the GMC Yukon Denali up $5,000.
“Any customer that had a deposit / sales order prior to a price rise on any of our product will not be impacted by the price rise,” the General Motors Australia spokesperson added.
Corvettes have been available since 2022, and the recent price hikes paint a rosy picture for early adopters as the 2LT coupe launched at $144,990 – $42,000 cheaper than the new price!
