There’s always a bigger fish, so stay humble. It might be hard for the lucky few customers who get their hands on a slice of the extremely limited run of 2025 ZR1s to have even a sliver of that mentality; 1,064 horsepower will do that to you. But the seemingly untouchable LT7 monster should be wary if it ever crosses paths with at least one of its 2,953 direct predecessors!
We’re talking about number 2,073, a 3LZ, ZTK Coupe with the Sebring Orange Design Package. Despite its stock – and excellently spec’d – appearance, this particular unit has been heavily upgraded to the tune of double its factory horsepower by the professionals at Advanced Modern Performance LLC of Grand Prairie, Texas!
To squeeze 1,500 ponies under the bulging perforated hood of the final front-engine Corvette, AMP and one of the ambitious previous owners took a Jurassic Park approach, sparing no expense on the way to cross-plane perfection. Per the listing on the selling dealer, Hyper Cars US’ site, to create an Orange Hulk, all of the following has been done to the ZR1 at an additional price tag of $84,767.56 with all receipts included in the sale:
LME sleeved shortblock rated for 1500WHP+, Darton sleeves, Callies billet 3.750 stroke dry sump crankshaft w/LME blueprinting, Dyres 300M H beam rods, Dyres connecting bolts, diamond custom forged pistons, Clevite H series main bearings, Clevite H series rod bearings, ARP main stud kit, custom grind camshaft, Edelbrock Victor JR LT race head, titanium valves, bronze guides, AMP ZR5 package, 5 cai, 112mm billet throttle body, ported LT5 blower, Griptec 2.7 upper super charger pulley, ATI balancer, AMP billet thermostat housing w/160 degree thermostat, ID1050x fuel injectors, alky control dual nozzle methanol injection system w/stainless steel line upgrade, built A8 transmission w/GPZ clutches and hardened input shaft, NGK 6510 spark plugs, Fore Innovations triple fuel pump setup, triple Walbro 525LTH pumps, FC3 staged controller w/4 gauge wiring, 4 port regulator upgrade, PTFE fuel line, fuel pressure switch, Honeywell pressure switch, Akrapovic titanium exhaust w/carbon fiber tips, C7 ZR1 nitrous plate system, fuel pressure gauge, nitrous pressure gauge, Nitrous Outlet purge kit, Lingenfelter adjustable RPM limiter & launch controller, hidden in-dash switch panel, ProMax dual channel progressive controller, AMP trunk mount water box, high output EMP pump, OMP fire suppression system, C7 Vetteworks lap belt bar, harness bar w/carbon fiber overlay, ARH 2 to 2 1/8 stepped race header w/3.5 x-pipe, and billet 270amp alternator. E85 or 110 octane only.
Whewwww! We’ve never had to quote an entire build before, but this one is so extensive that it tied our hands; congrats to all involved in this no-holds-barred masterpiece; you discovered our limit on rewording and spicing up! So, we have a $145,000ish car (pre-appreciation) with only 5,951 miles that’s been subjected to just shy of $85,000 in performance-enhancing mods, a $230,000 value, sitting in a beautiful New Albany, Indiana facility. Take a minute to guess the asking price; we’ll wait for you!
Welcome back! If you thought to yourself, “Eh, that’s probably a $169,990 car,” please let us know your picks for March Madness once the bracket is finalized later this month because you are correct! With properly optioned “normal” C7 ZR1s regularly commanding $225,000 or more, this whiff of insanity represents an incredible value for its next owner. It’s something that couldn’t be recreated for even close to that price, and we sincerely hope that we are fortunate enough to get to see it in action at some point!

Yeah this bad ass mighty C7 ZR1 will put any stock C8 ZR1 to shame and it’s quite a steal for the asking price.
So the takeaways are:
-It’s an automatic, which means that the purists will ignore it. Doesn’t matter if the manual could hold all this power or not. Asking price would be 50k higher if it was manual.
-Nitrous is at least partially how they got to 1500hp. Doesn’t say anywhere if it’s a 50 shot or a 500 shot. Babies get bottles; real men get blown.
-This won’t put any stock C8 ZR1 to shame. This is like the old joke about a 600hp and a 1200 hp Supra having the same exact ET–but different trap speed. Getting this to hook is going to be a nightmare.
-Good time to flip it. Once the ZR1 is mainstream online–it will be much harder to sell an automatic C7 ZR1 with gobs of HP but less ability to make it hook.
Too much power for too little tire. This car does its best while parked.
“Tuner shop (Advanced Modern Performance LLC) employee was caught putting metal shavings into Dealer’s ‘Vette, says it was a joke, not a scam.”
By Jason Torchinsky, Aug 10, 2018 9:50 AM EST
Notes: Vette=C6 Corvette Grand Sport; Mr. Sam Miller (Owner) has admitted to possessing the video of the employee removing a bag of metal shavings from his pocket, on his shop floor camera.
Thanks,
Ray
He should’ve gotten an immediate A$$ whooping.
A heavily modified C7 makes more horsepower than any stock C8? What a surprise…
Keep in mind that EACH one of the factory supplied 76mm turbochargers in the C8 ZR1 can supply about 920 hp of air. So tuner shops are going to have a lot of fun with it. At that power level, getting adequate traction out of just 2 tires is dubious. But at least a mid-engine design has the edge on that.
