Check out this epic street battle between two unexpected foes. It’s a 1955 Bel Air versus a 1961 Corvette in this no holds barred drag race on an unknown city street.
Both cars came armed for battle. The ’55 Chevy is rocking a procharger while the 1961 Corvette restomod is powered by twin-screws. The Corvette looks great with its lowered stance and raised hood, and its exhaust port stick out just behind the front wheels. Other than that, there are no other details known about the two Chevrolets…
We first see both cars traveling down a highway, and then suddenly we see them being staged on a two lane road that has obviously seen its share of street races. The footage of the race is professionally done, and we get multiple views of the race with a clear view of the winning car as it crosses the finish line. We’ll keep the outcome to ourselves so check it out below!

OH,YEAH! Did a lot of that back in the ’60’s and ’70’s, sure was fun, no one ever beat my L88 Nova on the street back when it was running high 10’s at the old Carlsbad Raceway and Orange County International Raceway. Sure do miss it, great time to be alive.
Please stop promoting racing videos on open public streets. If people want to race their Corvettes, there are venues where they can do so without endangering the public.
Ronnie,
Yeah, reminds me of those days as well. For me it was my GTO and Ramair 4 Firebird. It was a great time for us. I won some and lost some for it was great fun. Things are different now. Street racers have no common sense and have more money/horsepower than actual skill. But I remember those days with appreciation.
Brings back great memories of my youth in Queens N.Y.
