With warm weather on the horizon, the 2025 car show calendar is starting to fill up. If you’re looking for a great event in May, then check out Corvette Thunder at the Glen on Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th. This major event promises TWO days of Corvette fellowship plus a keynote address by Corvette Hall of Famer, Richard Prince.

GM’s Harley Earl was heavily influenced by the races at historic Watkins Glen raceway while designing the 1953 Corvette. It wasn’t long before his vision came to life and was thrilling onlookers at the New York track.

Earl’s substantial legacy will be celebrated throughout the weekend event. Festivities will take place at scenic Clute Park right on Lake Seneca. Other events will be held on the village’s main street as well as at the famous Watkins Glen raceway.

Saturday’s fun kicks off with Corvette owners gathering at the Clute Park Trailway to show off their precious Corvettes from 10am to 3pm. Cars should be parked by 9:30am. Assorted food trucks and vendors will be set up throughout the park offering a variety of items.

A dinner and presentation by Richard Prince will follow at 5pm in the Clute Park Community Center. Prince is a long time Corvette owner, restorer, and writer who’s best known for his photography that’s been featured in over 400 publications around the world. Most notably, he’s been capturing Corvette Racing since the team’s inception in 1997. In 2024 he was inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame at the National Corvette Museum. Prince will be presenting the history of the Corvette and afterward will answer questions about Corvette’s legacy.

Sunday May 18th begins with Corvettes on display from 12pm-4pm on Frankling Street in Watkins Glen. After that, owners will fire up their engines and take a paced lap of the Old Course. When done there, the cars will head over to historic Watkins Glen International for yet more laps on the world-famous road course.

If you like both showing and driving your Corvette, Corvette Thunder at the Glen is the event for you. Add the unique opportunity to hear about Corvette’s 72-year history from a Hall of Famer, and you’ve got an event that’s not to be missed.
