As we’ve noted before, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals consistently brings out the best of the best Corvettes on the planet. The 2024 Triple Diamond competition chimed in with a record field of over outstanding 50 contenders. Among them was this stunning Lynndale Blue 1967 convertible.
The Story Behind the Car brings us this look at a unique C2 shown last November at MCACN. The midyear is owned today by Eric Solberg of Wisconsin. He acquired the car about 5 years ago out of Calgary, Alberta in Canada. It was initially delivered in New Jersey and passed through a couple other owners before ending up north of the border. The previous owner restored the car back to as-built condition while the current owner performed the final preparations for its car show adventures.

Chevrolet built 22,940 Corvettes for the 1967 model year. Of those, 14,436 were of the topless variety. This C2 is one of the 3,754 cars assembled with the stout 435hp L71 engine between the front fenders. It’s also one of 1,381 cars finished in handsome Lynndale Blue which was the 3rd lowest color selected that year. The exterior is complemented by a black interior and black hood stinger. Other options features include side exhaust, 4-speed transmission, headrest seats, power brakes, and a vinyl covered hard top.

That is a perfect example of what, in my opinion was one of the most gorgeous Corvettes ever built. I happen to absolutely adore my own C-5 FRC, but I’m afraid that it doesn’t hold a candle to a ’67 427 roadster with side pipes.
Stunning excellent condition last model year C2. How could beautiful Lynndale Blue not have been a more popular paint color in ‘67?
